Horch Museum

Reviewed By pore - Goldau, Switzerland

The Horch Automuseum (car museum) is located in the old factory of Audi cars which were produced here before WWII. It shows all makes of Auto Union (Horch, Wanderer, DKW, Audi) and also some cars which were produced after the war at Zwickau (Trabant also called Trabi).
In summer 2017 this museum will even be more interesting as they are adding the Trabant collection of the old Trabant workers which is actually based on an other exhibition.
As Zwickau was the main car making city in Germany (there is still a VW factory) this is the best place to show such a collection of cars.
This museum is recommended to people of all ages who are interested in cars.

It took 5 years to create this almost Roman looking bridge, which is still being in use as a railway bridge. Worth the short detour from the Chemnitz-Bayreuth highway.

Robert - Schumann - Haus

Reviewed By WRC35 - London, United Kingdom

We stayed near Zwickau because we wanted to visit this museum. We were very taken with the historic centre of Zwickau itself which is much more attractive than the guide-books lead you to expect. The Museum offers a wealth of information relating to the lives and music of Robert and Clara Schumann, and is much more interesting than the very limited Schumann Museum in Leipzig. Unusually for a museum in Germany it was free, which was a pleasant surprise and it therefore seems a little churlish to complain that one of our free audio-guides failed to work properly - I am sure if we had returned it the helpful lady at the desk she would have replaced it for us.

Despite the wet weather plenty of thrills at the moto GP. Little seats being quite narrow, give a variety of viewing points around the track depending upon what you have booked. The track is quiet closed off compared to Assen where there is much more banked open viewing space. Plenty of food and beer outlets for all tastes. We parked 2 motorcycles on the streets nearby. Signage was limited with large gaps between signs for the designated parking areas.

"Neue Welt" Konzert und Ballhaus

Reviewed By Torsten U - Meerane, Germany
