I enjoyed seeing native plants here within a secondary forest setting. Trails I used were in fine condition and many people were using them. There are different habitats (wetland with boardwalks, forest and open spaces, and along the way, various benches to sit down and rest. Everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. I want to return in other seasons to see nature's changes.

Enjoyed walking around this place. Quiet and small, it's a very unassuming neighborhood temple. One can tour the whole complex in ten minutes. That said, it was a nicely done spot. Worth the trip.

Sochu-ji Temple

Reviewed By April B - Fredericksburg

There are 3 parking spaces in front and some others across the street. Entering you walk a short Buddha path of icons. There is a unique reflection pool and spectacular typical architecture for a large temple.
The Hondo is not always open but sometimes you can see the wonderful dragon ceiling through the window.
To the right, just before the cemetery, please go into the building. There are restrooms and if you ask at the window they will open a small art gallery for you. Be sure to look through the photo albums and see the temple events!
