Lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar

Reviewed By ItalianChicken1 - Paso Robles, California

When it is windy it is very windy. We walked from the parking lot to the light house and boy was the sand hitting us like it was rocks, or glass!!!!
WE made it and looked around and walked back. Beautiful lighthouse, I heard the sunsets are beautiful. We could not sit or sunbathe due to high winds so we walked on the beach and watched the kite surfers then went for a drink in the nearby cafe.
We will come back again. In Summer the parking lot is packed and right now it cost Euro 2.
The color of the sea is phenomenal, a gorgeous light blue turquoise!!!!

Cabo Trafalgar

Reviewed By Vegieplot - West Sussex, United Kingdom

Called over to look at this historic place, Beaches were pretty good & really windy - just right for the kite Surfing dudes. Facilities were non existent, but it's a beach at the end of the day.......the lighthouse web site said it was open - but it's not - doesn't look like it has ever been open ?
Good vantage point to see where the straights of Gibraltar meet the Atlantic Ocean & of course the historic battle place.
No information on the historical aspect of anything, still I suppose that if you were outnumber 2:1 and still won, then I guess that's not worth pointing out.
Plenty of bars etc go to
Great for Surfing & waves pretty good

Playa El Palmar

Reviewed By nielsmunoz - The Hague, The Netherlands

I spent 3 weeks in southern Spain and visited a beach a day. Even though El Palmar cannot be called virgin and has many facilities for tourism, I loved it. It has nice sandy Beaches and the waters were clear when I was there in August. It is a large beach, providing for space. Chiringuitos play relaxing music and I enjoyed a decent lunch at La Selva. My girlfriend decided to do a wave Surfing class and we watched the sunset afterwards. Great place!

Drinks extortionate don't bother. Staff rude. They want you to eat and if you don't they charge you €7 for a G&T. Next door is half the price and the staff are lovely.

Cabo Roche

If you are travelling in this region you must spend a day at Cabo Roche and its many 'calas'. Very well organised parking and access to the beach. Be aware of the tide before choosing your spot on the sand, some small 'calas' have not place left at high tide.

Playa de Zahora

Reviewed By amdgriggs - Sheffield, United Kingdom

We've spent a coupe of delightful days here, once some really strong winds had died down. Popular with Spanish families and just a smattering of others, gorgeous golden sand, clear water, and lots of rocks exposed when the tide's out to go exploring for crabs etc. Because of the rocks and the sand bars it's also quite shallow a long way out, so relatively safe for kids too. And decent restaurants and beach bars too, just behind the beach - Sayorami is probably the best but also the most pricey. Parking's easy too - 1 euro 50 a day, about 2 minutes walk back from the beach (and Sayorami's car park is free if you then eat there). Definitely the nicest beach we've found along the Costa de la Luz.

Great long long stretch of beach of golden sand scattered with formal restaurants and beach bars.
Great sunsets to watch on the beach with a beer or glass of wine.
A very clean beach with Conil town only a few minutes away with a goodly array of tapas bars and restaurants.
Fantastic place to visit for the day or spend a holiday

Centro Hipico Zahora

Reviewed By Petra0711 - Reichartshausen

It was a great week and I enjoyed it very much!
Simone and Melanie were great guides and my horse (Prinzessa) fitted perfectly to me.
I enjoyed the rides along the beach and in the back country very much.
Low season is a great time to discover Andalucia - I had still ~ 20-25 degrees, blue skies and Sunshine during the days, the Beaches were empty and it was a real good time to experience the life there outside the main tourist season.
I will defintely come back as soon as possible,
Thanks to Simone and Melanie for the great time over there!
