This is one of the best outdoor gardens in the area. I often drive up from Pittsburgh just to walk the grounds. The rose garden is spectacular overlooking the lake, but the variety of other flowers and plants is remarkable. Everything is well marked and you can usually find a volunteer around that will be more than willing to answer your questions or take a picture for you.

I would come here for the donuts alone! Get the blueberry they are the best. We went for their fall fest. They had a small petting zoo for the children and a playground. There were pony rides for a fee. They had a hay maze, duck races, checkers, a trike track, dry erase boards, and hula hoop lassoing. The best part was adults were free and 2 and under were free. We had 4 adults and 3 children and only had to pay for 1 child. It was nice since the adults really don’t get to do anything. There is a lake where children can feed the fish. There were fair vendors set up for the fall fest too.

Collection: Checkout collection highlights before a trip to fully appreciate the range of the fine American art. Also special exhibits of high interest. A bit surprised to see trend to solicit donations for art restoration. I am so happy that I visited the gallery, but it seems that times may be trying in Youngstown.
Building: Housed in a stately building with a glass walkway to the former First Christian Church. If lit, the restored Butler Northern Great Hall would have been beautiful. The main building atrium is a grand setting for art.
Location: Downtown Youngstown with free parking. Visited on December 23 in early afternoon and not many around. Easy short trip from Ohio Turnpike.

This is the 3rd time we have been to this place & everytime it just gets worst. Ive thought maybe she or they are new & werent trained properly. Then I thought maybe she/they are just having a bad day. But after the 3rd time I learned 'she' was the manager & 'they' truly are very ignorant & insensitive people. I hosted my 5yo bday party on our 2nd visit. They cut our time short by 1hr (summer hours ended a few days prior to our party & wasnt told of a change during booking or before arriving the day of) Bday kid did not get to do ticket blaster. Activities were rushed. Some kids were not allowed to play bumper cars, laser tag equipment & arcade games barely worked. Pizza was served & sang hbd but guests didnt get to enjoy cake w/o rushing because she started throwing our food away. We brought our own icecream which they didnt serve or give back to us. The whole time it was an extreme headache. She had a nasty attitude & is just disrespectful. She ended up giving me extra attraction coupons because not all of our guest got to experience everything & OUR GUESTS kindly REFUSED DUE TO HER ATTITUDE!! So today they had take a selfie with minion day. Minion came out & we were told no because we had the wrong color wristbands & it would cost $2pp. WHATTT!? NOW WHERE WAS THAT MEMO POSTED??? Nothing of the sort was even mentioned @ the front desk or online about a fee to take a selfie! Oh & we could not pay the $2pp because minion was only gonna be out for 5minutes . Now I wouldnt be soooo pissed had I not gave my children the option to g2 skatezone & see minion today & then get there & be denied the only reason we went to the smelly place next to using our attraction passes for the heck of it. You couldnt pay me enough to visit here again.

Lanterman's Mill

What a picturesque building. It reminds me of McConnell Mill in Butler, Pa. Only bigger. There is a nice little gift shop to the left as you enter. You pay a small admission price and a local person gives you some history of the mill. There seems to be four levels to it. Very sturdily built. When you leave the mill, there is a covered bridge very close by which is very well maintained. Nice place!
