Pleasurable the minute you walk through the door! Every area was fresh and visually appealing to the eye. It was a fun place to walk through and the prices were very reasonable.

Shopping for a lifestyle? Experience shopping like never before in our beautiful store and unique merchandise. Gifts, clothing, jewelry, scares, body and bath lotions, home and garden, specialty wines, cigars, and chocolates Both men and women enjoy the experience.
Clara Ida Frances has always been a place that has wonderful things for the home. A gift-shopper's paradise! (gifts for yourself too!)
But now that they have moved to their own building - a historic Winnsboro landmark - and restored that building to it's former glory - Clara Ida Frances shines!
Upscale home furnishings, gifts for the woman (or man) who has everything. Nice little things to buy yourself. Decorations, gadgets, scents, accent pieces - and even clothing now. Some cool items for classy guys - emergency cell-phone charges, brass tire gauges, the nicest gun "rug" you've ever seen (handcrafted out of fine materials) are just a few of the treasures you'll discover.
Janice, Nancy, or one the charming girls who work here will be happy to show you around.
The even have gourmet chocolate, nuts, wine, and even cigars!
Do take a step back when you get inside - it's hard not to let the trinkets fill your field of vision - but look up and around at the renewed beauty of this early 20th-century building. The dirt, dust, grime, years and layers of paint and tacky "redecorations" have been stripped away and the natural beauty of the building show through - probably even *better* than the day the building first opened ~100 years ago. It's bright, open - old and new at the same time - a feast for the eye.
Good job Peter, Janice (York!)

Crossroads Music Company & Listening Room keeps live music aLIVE in East Texas, by bringing top-notch performers into Winnsboro for concerts!
Wanting to do something different last night, my husband and I went to a concert featuring Brad Davis, GRAMMY winner, 2012 Texas Studio Musician of the year. He was wonderful, of course. We also heard Cole Risner play guitar and sing opening for Brad. Later in the concert, Deborah Porter joined with Brad on stage with her vocals & ukulele. All in all, the venue is comfortable and relaxed and where you can really sit back and enjoy good music. This was our first visit, but it will not be our last.

The friendliest Market in Northeast Texas. Year round Farmers' Market featuring only locally grown and produced products. At our market you will find: grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, organic heritage pork, free range and organic eggs, farm fresh yogurt and cheese, goats milk fudge and soap, plants and herbs, canned items, and lots of fruits and vegetables seasonally. Open every Saturdays: November - March 10 am until 1 pm April - October 8 am until Noon
In a day and age where Farmers' Markets are fading away or being taken over by wholesalers re-selling produce from commercial markets, THIS farmers' Market is doing it the old-fashioned way!
This market is different from most others in that all of the growers and producers are *local* - within 50 miles I'm told. For being in a small town, there is an amazing variety of produce, eggs, meat, baked goods and even handmade soaps here. It's fun to talk to the farmers and growers. They're all small operations - couples and families that grow everything themselves and can tell you what varieties of tomato *this* is or what kind of lettuce *that* is. The people are friendly and like to chat (so don't be in a hurry!)
The produce varies by season of course, but even in January there were two or three farmers selling fresh lettuce, turnips, and radishes. The market started going year-round last November - previously it was open April through October. It's on the street during the "normal" growing season and on the patio of the local coffee shop (Art & Espresso) during the winter months.
Eggs are usually available though sometimes they sell out quickly so it pays to get there early to make sure you get the best selection. There were quail eggs here last spring, but I haven't seen any lately.
There are 2 or 3 vendors here who sell grass-fed beef and a couple that sell pork as well - some are even organic but you have to make sure to ask because not all of them are. A Mennonite couple has pastured chicken and had turkeys available for Thanksgiving - they also amazing lettuce!
There's a lady here who sells the neatest pastries and scones and cookies - some things that are pretty involved like strudel and a German cake called "Baumkuchen" that has little layers in it and chocolate icing.
You can also find soap made from goat milk and bath salts and some lotions here.
Because the selection of produce changes with the season (and our drought here, Ugh) you never know what to expect here. They have a face book page that lists what is going to be at the market every week, so it's a good idea to check there if you're looking for something special.

Visited this gallery a few times this year, and there is always someone in there that is knowledgeable and friendly on hand. They are great at telling you what's on the galleries agenda in the near future, with a pamphlet for you to take home. They have a lovely gift shop with art supplies, and original works of art for purchase. They also have silent auction events with musical entertainment from time to time. Great, free entertainment!
