The thousand pillar temple is near market area so it was little difficult to locate. It is under renovation for long time and no one knows when it us going to be completed.
Compared to other historical places like Hampi, Badami and Pattadakal this does not live upto expectations based on reviews.

I went to Warangal Fort. The major highlights of Warangal fort are the four ornamental gates, which are now the official emblem of the Telangana state. The fort is in ruins today, still transmitting the historical grandeur and architectural preeminence of the Kakatiya Dynasty. It is great place to go.

The Laknavaram Lake Is Surely A Must Visit Place Near Warangal. About 65 Kilometres From Warangal - Hanumakonda, The Lake Is Set In Green Deciduous Forests Filling The Foggy Hills, Giving A Very Montane Feel To It.
The Main Attraction Is The Suspension Bridge, Connecting Three Islands, With The One At The Centre Submerged In The Waters. It Gently Moves In The Current And Wind, And Gives A Good Feel.
The Third Island Has Many Facilities, Such As Average Washrooms, Play Area For Kids, Benches, And A Restaurant Run By Haritha ( Govt. Of Telangana Run Entity ), Which Provides Us With Scrumptious Food, And Has Very Friendly Staff. There Is Also Pantoon Boating, Deluxe Boating, Speed Boating Etc.
It Also Has Cottages, Though The Security Is Low, But Still Is A Very Good Place To Visit. But Do Visit This Only In Monsoon, As The Lake And The Forest Dry Up In The Summer, Leaving Nothing But Red Soil And Naked Trees.

Ramappa Lake

Reviewed By debduttac2015 - Hyderabad, India

We started our journey to Ramappa on 24th December morning at 7.40AM by outstation OLA CAB. We reached Warangal city at 11.30AM. We took a break as our Ola driver wanted to take breakfast. We all took road side tea in wrangle and taste was good. We were carrying puri (luchi) and potato carry ( alur-dam in Bengali) and took it during our journey. As we booked cottage in Ramappa Lakeview APTDC Resort, it was 1 hour and 30 minutes journey from Wrangle to Ramappa. While we were near to our destination we understood we are actually far away from Wrangle city. Finally we reached Ramappa lake resort which is actually on the bank of Ramappa Lake and consist of 8 cottages and one restaurant. Restaurant balcony have some chairs and visitors can enjoy the beauty of the lake Seating there. We quickly got the cottage room key after showing printout of my online booking. We went inside the cottage room which had enough space with a double bed room, a dining space, and a lake view balcony and attached bathroom. Even though there were some minor issues in the bathroom, we found the cottage accommodation quite, lonely and beautiful. After refreshing ourselves we straight way went to the restaurant and took the veg buffet (only available option) and we liked the test of the food items. Then we spend some time in restaurant balcony watching the beauty of the lake Seating there. Then we decided to go out side and understood from reception that auto is the only available option for transport from there (bringing own vehicle is the best option for the resort). As the place is completely isolated and full of hill and trees, we understood we need to comeback to resort before day light ends. We requested for auto service in reception and got an auto within 5 minutes. We bargained with him for to and fro visit to Ramappa temple which is located within 400-500 meters. Within 5-10 minutes we reach Ramappa temple and it was a very beautiful Lord Shiva temple. It was build during Kakatiya's time and it was quite visible in historic sculptures. We liked this temple and spend 30 minutes there. We wanted to spend more time there, but as we booked the auto and expected to return by it, we decided to go back to resort. I bought a plastic toy paying 100 Rs near to the temple shop and got change of money (no effect of demonetization). Nothing else was visible other than trees and hills in that area. After coming back to cottage, suddenly we saw that resort was occupied by around 20-30 monkeys. Luckily we were inside the the cottage, so we just kept watching the monkeys for next 30 minutes. We took tea around 6.00-6.30 PM and spend time in restaurant balcony for 30 minute to 1 hour enjoying the evening of loneliness as lake resort. After placing our order for diner we came back to the cottage. As I stood in cottage balcony at night I could see only darkness and Standstill of Lake, seems like an isolated place completed cut out of civil society. Even wireless connection was not available and airtel SIM seems to be only available good quality network in Ramappa. Around 8.00-8.30PM our diner was delivered to cottage as per our request. We completed our dinner by 9.30PM. We spend some time in room balcony enjoying the beauty of silence on the lake and hill and slept around 11.00pm. I got up early around 7.00 AM and I thought of going out of cottage room to enjoy morning beauty of the lake. I saw few fishermen was rowing small boats and catching fishes in regular interval. We took tea and idly in canteen around 9.00AM. We decided to go to Lakhmyavaram Lake to see hanging bridge and for boating. I got the same auto which took us to Ramappa temple last day. We made a deal of 600 rs for to and fro journey to Lakhmyavaram Lake. It took probably less than an hour to reach Lakhmyvaram Lake which is located little bit of isolated area. But we found the place heavily crowded with tourists. We took the 20 Rs entry ticket for hanging bridge through which we walked to the APTDC lakhsvaram Lake resort. Lake is covered with Mountains and Forests and view from the bridge was really beautiful. After reaching the lakhavaram resort, we enquired about the different types of boating service available there. We took the 60 RS general boat ride. It was really fantastic experience to travel in boat in lake for 15 -20 minutes and enjoyed the beauty of the place. Lakhavaram resort has 4 cottages in the middle of the lake and boat took us near to it. Finally after boating we entered the resort canteen and took some juice. Even Seating in canteen we enjoyed the lake view through glass window. We came back to Ramappa resort by 1 PM and took veg buffet there. As there was no direct bus available from Ramappa to Wrangle, we decided to go by auto and started our 55-60 km journey at 2.30 PM. We reached wrangle within 1 hour and 15 minutes. As per our deal with auto driver we visited wrangle 1000 pillar temple, Vadhrakali temple and wrangle fort. We specially liked the wrangle fort. We stayed in a wrangle heritage hotel Ratnam for the night and came back Hyderabad next morning by Bhagyanagari express. Over all it was a very good weekend trip which we will remember for long time. Below are my recommendations for Ramappa:
1. Please visit it with family and friends
2. Go with your own vehicle.

Kakatiya Musical Garden

Reviewed By Gowrish P - Bengaluru, India

Our mid day visit left us spellbound at the richness of Kakatiya architecture. However, this place hosts a light and sound show by the evening.
What this place is:
Inside Warangal fort, close to Kush Mahal, this is a gated park with unearthed artifacts of the beautiful temples (and more) build by the Kakatiyas.
Specialty:
The specialty of this place is that it hosts the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, which is today the emblem of Telangana.
There are hundreds of intricately carved pillars, arches, statues and figurines carefully laid out in, perhaps, preparation for later assembly when all parts are identified or found.
It is a must visit and should be on top of your itinerary.
Parking and fee:
Tickets and parking charges paid here will cover you do the entire fort, but we visited just the Kush Mahal with the pass.
