This Moose/Elk safari was the highlight of our holiday. It is only a short safari ride enabling you to get up close and personal with Moose/Elk. It is so much fun riding in the safari vehicles and then meeting the animals. The Moose are really friendly, you get given food and can feed and pet them. They do get very very close but this is all part of the fun!
The staff on site were very informative, fun and friendly.
This was an experience my children will never forget neither will I and well worth the money in fact too cheap!
A must do if your in the area.

We spent two and a half days here with our Swedish grandchildren, staying in the "small town" accommodation and spending the days doing most of the activities and seeing many of the Performances on the specific to book title stage sets.
The settings and the performers provide a true to life rendition of the areas from Lindgren's books which they are designed to portray. Nothing is left to chance and the results are experiences not to be missed for any followers of Astrid Lindgren's publications.
All in all this is a venue not to be missed - for any non Swedish speakers it would be very helpful to have read the performance specific Lindgren's books, because the portrayal in every case was so true to the stories as to be amazing.
A brilliant theme park well worth the effort to find it and to visit, especially if you have young children/grandchildren who will certainly love it.

As a writer of books for children, I try to visit Astrid Lindgrens Näs each year.
The place is wonderful.
You can see the one and only lemonadetree there, visit wonderful Exhibitions, eat great food and experience a wonderful environment where this superb author, my greatest example, once lived.
You can meet relatives of Astrid Lindgren, buy books and other fantastic stuff ...
Can't wait to go back.
Each time, I try to do some writing there too. There's no better place for it!
You can visit Näs free. For some Exhibitions, there is a fee.

This place is where the original filming took place. There are some very attractive original houses and buildings and is a very pretty farm. There's a few animals dotted around and some wooden outdoor play equipment. You can also take a small ride on a horse and cart. There's a small shop selling souvenirs and snacks.
If you are a fan of the story / film then go but otherwise not that much to do or see! Small entrance fee !

Here you can see one of the oldest oaks in europe, which is very impressive!! The landscape is beautiful and we were lucky and saw two mooses!! its a nice picnic place if you want to have a break.

It's a statue, one which Astrid herself didn't want but whatever. We don't have much else in Vimmerby so a statue was necessary, indeed. A statue is always just a statue but I suppose your child could climb on it or something and you can take selfies with the writing Astrid, splendid.

Bodde några dagar på Eriksgården och det var bra på alla sätt. Annelie välkomnade och tog väl hand om oss alla. Lugnt och skönt boende med finfin ridtur på hennes stoooora Ardenner. Bäst av allt var bemötandet av barn, de fick röra sig fritt på gården och Annelie fångade upp och tog fint hand om så att de fick vara med i stallet och hjälpa till bland djuren.

Not sure why the need to write a review about the information building in Vimmerby but ok. It is located in the center there some great ice cream and milk shakes near by.
The staff was amazingly friendly, we purchased a 1 day finishing license and asked a few various questions which they were great at answering.
All in all a friendly, customer service oriented place. A picture of the pike we caught with the license we purchased
