Big Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yavapai County, Arizona, United States. The population was 5,245 at the 2000 census. Big Park is more commonly known as the Village of Oak Creek (VOC), and is a bedroom community for Sedona, Arizona, just 7 miles away. Tourism and service to retirees and second-home owners are the basis for the local economy. Big Park, the pioneers' name for the large open area that became the Village of Oak Creek in the early 1960s, is set among scenic red-rock buttes and canyons. The Bell Rock scenic area adjoins the north end of VOC, and the town is surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. A Forest Service Visitor Center is located at the south end of VOC.

I rented a mid-range mountain bike (Pivot Mach 8) for 3 days of riding the local trails.
Two best trails systems (using the MTB Project app) that I HIGHLY recommend: the West Sedona tour (more trail/xc, more sedate- very beautiful) and the Highline/Slim Shady trail loop.
This second loop starts near Absolute Bikes (you can bike to trailhead in a couple of minutes). Highline is rated double-black diamond/experts only, with severe cliff exposure and a couple of very difficult/dangerous chutes. I wouldn't consider myself an expert rider necessarily, but overall Highline was pretty easy-going except for the chutes. I walked two of them and rode the other 1-2. But REALLY a fun trail.
My chain snapped on the way back to the trailhead and I had to spend an extra hour walking the bike/repairing it with some help on the trail. Not fun. It looked like the chain had been previously repaired at the bike shop. Despite this, the guys at the shop were pretty cool about it and didn't charge me for the third (half) day.)
I would recommend these trails and this bike shop (just check the bike out before you leave, to make sure everything looks kosher.)

My husband and I had a blast on this guided bike tour. We both love road biking but he is an excellent rider and I am okay. When we visit new areas we often rent bikes on our own and figure out routes. In Sedona...MoreAwesome! Just what I like to hear ! My goal as a bike tour owner/operator is to make sure you enjoy yourself. If you're working too hard you may not be having fun. I can accommodate you! Come back and ride with us again!

It can be very dangerous if you aren’t wearing proper shoes or have some experience. There isn’t a path. You literally climb on rocks that can be slippery. While we were there a woman who slipped and injured her wrist. The EMT has to rescue her. You can go as high or stay as low as you want and still enjoy. So I recommend going with the appropriate gear.

Outstanding Views and trails all around on this short road between Oak Creek and Sedona. This is where your top sites are like Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and the chapel. Words can’t completely describe the beauty that you will see along this road.

We are 60 and in good shape. The trail to Bell Rock is easy, however the climb up the rock is definitely more difficult. Have good hiking shoes. We went partway but the trail was getting to steep and turned back. Enjoyed the challenge and satisfied with our distance.

Worth the drive and wasn’t crowded at all with no traffic. The views are just breathtaking, I cannot describe it.
If in doubt or short on time, spend less
Time in Sedona and do this.
The red rocks are gorgeous but this is ever changing scenery just 5 mins away.
Reminded me of South Island in New Zealand.

Great fun to stop here at this gallery. While I am sure they would like you to shop they are very tolerant of you treaating it like a museum. Excellent bronzes outside but more inside. Also great glass and paintings.

This is a rather easy trail that can be fun for the majority of people. Throughout Sedona, you can see incredible views and this trail is no different.
Tip: If looking for something more challenging, then this particular hike is probably not for you.
Tip @: Remember to hang your National Park Pass so you don't get a ticket while parking
Overall, I'd say it's a 4.5 as long as you know it's not going to be overly challenging. I would recommend to a friend who wanted a easy and enjoyable hike.

We took a tour of this very tiny church. A good climb the hill to get to it, but was so beautiful and spectacular. Amazing they built a church into a rock. The views surrounding it were so beautiful. It didn't require alot of time, but was so worth the stop. Parking is tough and would suggest driving all the way up the road to the place as there were spots up there. You may have to wait a bit for one, but parking down on the road made it a longer walk, although golf cart rides were offered. Don't miss this. Super nice.
