A wonderful experience with helpful guides, Porters and trackers combining to make a one off experience for the 8 members of our group. We were fortunate to find the gorillas in about 90 minutes of sometimes steep climbing. Once there the trackers made it as easy as possible for to view and take photos by clearing away the brush around them as they moved slowly. Because of the nature of the terrain it is not possible for everyone to take photos at the same time and it is therefore perhaps reasonable that you take your photographs and then move aside to let someone else in. The guide did try to action this. After our hour with the gorillas it was ‘the short way back’ which was incredibly steep but down hill and then a fairly level short hike to the rest area where we were presented our certificates. A wonderful experience.

We spent two days visiting these incredible mountain gorillas and loved every minute of it!!! Experience of a lifetime. Guides are knowledgeable, friendly and responsible and great people! Be sure to get a porter as this helps them earn a living and it is actually nice to have someone carry your backpack for you. I had a female, Mary, whom I requested again for the second day. The gorillas are mesmerizing!!! Wonderful experience!

We joined a very comfortable launch for the Tour (there were much larger boats but we benefited from being only six people). Our companions were on their first trip so benefited fro close up views of hippo.buffalo,elephants,monitor lizards and many other animals and birds. The guide was sharp eyed and well informed.

This was my fourth visit (speaks volume) to this beautiful place. Having come from Tanzania's Game Park, one can not compare the abundance of animals in Tanzania to Uganda, but Uganda has more birds than later. Murchison Falls Park is unique, in that one of the longest river in the world is forced through that narrow gap.
You will still see most of animals (absent being Zebra) in this Game Park. They are trying to introduce Where Rhino (through another reserve south of this Game Park)
A bota ride to falls is a must, as you will encounter lots of birds and Crocodiles.

In general it was good, but not as my expectations ... Its just as over priced Chimps zoo Speed boat trip was Ok, Over the island there was no activities ,just watch few chimps behind cages for two hours

In theory there should be several groups of up to 8 persons be formed in order not to disturb the animals more then necessary. In reality there will be several groups surrounding the chimpanzees once they are detected by any one group. This is almost like hunting. Whenever possible refuse RONA to be your guide! She has not got a clue, is not interested in showing and explaining anything to you and she is so loud, that she does not need a walkie talkie to communicate with the other groups.

My wife and I visited Mgahinga Gorilla National Park to fulfil a lifetimes ambition to see Mountain Gorillas. We were not disappointed and indeed our 2 days trekking in the park will remain one of the best things that we have ever done!
We were met at the gate HQ on our first day by Allen and Simon who were to be our guides on our Golden Monkey trekking day, Following a comprehensive briefing at the visitor centre, Allen led the way up through the forest into the park. She was very well informed in the flora and fauna and pointed out familiar plants such as brambles and juniper along with giant earthworms on the path! She pointed out bushbuck as they disappeared amongst the trees and as we are keen birders, pointed out Albertine Rift specialities including ruwenzori double collared sunbird and even ruwenzori nightjar! We passed the spoor of buffalo and even when we saw one on the path we felt very safe in the hands of the guides. Entering the bamboo zone, we met the trackers who had located the golden monkeys. This very local subspecies of the blue monkey is delightful to watch as they gambol amongst the foliage. We were very lucky to hear the alpha male call out and had splendid views of many individuals at very close range, The designated hour went very quickly and we descended through the forest with huge smiles on our faces! Then as a bonus we were shown both male and female ruwenzori 3 horned chameleons and a tree hyrax, outstanding!! We thought it couldn't get any bettter until we went trekking for the mountain gorillas the next day!
Starting with some spectacular birding with the guides at the main gate (ruwenzori batis, white starred robin, African hill babbler, cinnamon bracken warbler etc. etc.) we set off back up through the forest. It must be said that due to the altitude the ascents can be tiring, but the guides are aware and are happy to allow frequent rest stops (we took a lot!). On the gorilla trek we had Clovis and Dan as our guides and they were always pointing out interesting wildlife on the trek (from deafening cicadas to the call of ruwenzori turaco). Meeting with the trackers after about 1.5 hours we were taken to the Gorillas..words cannot describe how incredible the encounter is, but to share an hour of one's life with silver back males, an adult female, a juvenile male and a baby, all getting on with their daily lives is one of the most amazing experiences that there is! The trackers and guides are on hand to provide interpretation on the life and behaviour of the gorillas. One recommendation, try just watching the gorillas without filming or looking through a lens, at least for a portion of the hour you are permitted and you will leave with only the best possible memories. I cannot thank the guides and the trackers and indeed the gorillas enough for allowing us such a most magical and memorable experience. So many people visit Bwindi, but at Mgahinga you are taking the trek less travelled. Extremely highly recommended!

We loved our tour here! We did the 2 hour rhino tracking. We were able to get so close to the rhinos. We went in the afternoon while they were resting, which I think was a good call. We even got close to the youngest baby!
The guide was great and gave us a lot of information while also making us feel secure.
We had lunch at their facility, too. It was simple but tasty. At the restaurant they only accept cash.
We were able to pay for our tour with credit card (with an added 4% fee).
Definitely worth it!
