If you like temples this is one of the best in Japan to visit. It is very large, not crowded and surrounded by a lovely old town. It has many of the old features restored to its original condition and it is worth a visit.

I arrived at Japan at the Centrair International Airport then went to Kyoto. After visiting surrounding area of Kyoto, I went to Toba. If taking the train to the Airport, I needed to go to Nagoya first. Instead, I went to Tsu and took the high speed boat. There is a bus to take passengers from the train station directly to the ferry terminal and the bus schedule ties in with the ferry schedule. All is very convenient and if one visits Mie, the boat ride to the airport would be recommended.

Love the Plum Blossoms!! It is so beautiful !! But the place is quite small. We toured the whole area for about 10 minutes and stayed a while taking pictures.?

Mie has a history which stretches back some 4 million years, quite astounding. I used an English audio guide which helped a lot. It is quite modern and it has a large collection of artifacts. Great for the history student and tourist alike though it caters largely for Japanese people quite understandably. My meager Japanese could not cope with the Japanese only descriptions around the museum. This notwithstanding, it is worth a look see.

初めて三重県を訪れました。
街中で偶然≪ベン・シャーン展≫開催の張り紙があり急行しました。企画力の高さに驚き大感動しました。
300点の作品がきちんと分かりやすく展示してあり時間の経つのを忘れて見入りました。学芸員のレベルの高さに脱帽です。
第五福竜丸、ナチスに協力したゼネラルモーターズ社長、ベトナム戦争に反対した奨学金の創立者フルブライト氏、などの社会的なモチーフだけではなくリルケの詩に創作意欲を掻き立てられた作品、子どものための画、写真を含めて全て見応えがありました。必見です♪
美術館そのものも大変素晴らしい建物で屋外の緑と調和して副交感神経が優位に立ち心地よい眠気に誘われました。
レストランも素材に工夫があり見事でした。
この日は食事も含めて朝9時～午後2時半過ぎまで滞在しました。
JR津駅から歩いて10分ほどで着きます。真っ直ぐの一本道なので分かりやすいです。

I was to take the high speed boat to go to the airport and I had a couple of hours to kill. During the cherry blossom season, this would be a good place to spend an hour just strolling around and admiring the lovely sakura. There are quite a lot of food stalls and seemed to be a popular place for locals to come to spend the weekend.

for anyone who want a preview of the Louvre museum in Paris is a good option or for who those who not have the time and money to go there... Is a small place with ample parking and near to the Sakakibara onsen deguchi train station...

津から奈良方面に向かう途中で立ち寄りました。映画・ウッジョブのロケ地でジオラマやポスターなどが見れます。木はあるけど、それだけかな～といった印象。特にウェルカムな感じもなく、こじんまりとした道の駅でした。
