Museos flotantes Delfin S-61 y Albatros III

Reviewed By cameronag - Rosneath, United Kingdom

We visited this museum mainly because it features a real submarine! We live very near to a submarine base at home and while we see them come and go regularly we've never been able to experience anything of what it's like on board one of them, until now. The first surprise after we walked through the harbour to the entrance to the museum was the price. Only €2. And the next surprise was that the entry fee included access to not just one but two vessels. The first vessel we visited was the ex Customs cutter 'Albatros III' which was gifted to the town for its museum in 2006. Everything has been preserved as closely as possible in the condition it was in when it was last in service, even down to the crockery in the galley! Then we visited the star of the show, submarine S-61, 'Delfin', which became the first Spanish military vessel to become a museum, in 2004. As with 'Albatros III' everything has been kept so as to illustrate, as faithfully as possible, the way the boat operated when she was in service. The wonder of all this was being able to move through the boat itself, feeling the claustrophobia, squeezing past the attack periscope and between the engine exhausts. I think we were fortunate in that we visited in February when things were quiet. I'm sure the claustrophobia is even more authentic when the boat is thronged with visitors! Highly recommended. Watch out for closing times, especially around religious holidays and scheduled maintenance.

Aquapark Flamingo

What a brilliant day we had here. Whilst this hasn’t got high adrenaline rides or lots of pools and rivers, it’s has got a safe environment for children to play about in whilst the adults can chill or get involved. The cleanliness is amazing. Well looked after and water clean. The pool and snack bar are all reasonably priced and food was of a good quality. All the staff were attentive but also friendly. The lifeguards were excellent. They chatted to us but also applied a safe environment. Out best day out of the holiday. So glad we chose this rather than the scale and price of the other water park.

Such a good day! Went here for my birthday with my partner and 7 year old and it was so much fun, we were a little sceptical because of some bad reviews but when we got there we were glad we didn’t listen! We got a VIP area which was well worth the money, have a private pool area which you can use and fast track is included, you get lunch bought to you and a park member comes and takes your order at 1.30 and then brings it to you shortly afterwards, you also get 3 free items of any food or drink of your choice every hour with the wrist bands! It was clean and well looked after, the life guards were attentive and everywhere and it ended up being a lovely day! Recommend getting here just before it opens to miss the queue or to book online as it’s cheaper and miss the queue too!
