We are a family of 5 with children aged 8, 7 and 5. Our gang got such a kick from the maze itself as well as the clever and fun activities at the stations. The staff were more than welcoming. One word of caution: the maze closes between 12 and 5 on very hot days.

What a great place. We visited on a slightly grey day and it didn't disappoint. It is really good value for money and easily kills half a day. There is crossbows and knight training included in the price which the kids loved. The horse show was fantastic as was the falconry. You can dress up and do loads of different activities. The castle itself is fab too with guided tours taking place throughout the day. We saw this last year and thought "why would we visit a lump of rocks with young kids" how wrong we were. If you are nearby and looking for something to do I would highly recommend.

Visited this beach on holiday this year July 2016 whilst campling at the Veillon Plage campsite nearby. This place is amazing. The sand is clean and although many people visit , it doesnt seemed crammed up with people as it stretches for miles and miles. You can pick your own spot from among the rocks side for shelter to the soft sand near the dunes or the firm sand closer to the water. Its windy so maybe a wee beach shelter would be a good idea as many people had them there. No need to go to the gym as walking the length of the beach is a workout in itself. That said, there were many people with wheelchairs etc who stayed close to the path at the entrance so its a beach for all.
The little pools created between the beach and the main waters edge allow the kids to paddle and play safely whilst mum and dad soak up the sun watching on. There is a bar nearby for food and drinks and toilets too. For the fitter and more keen you can walk all the way from the beach to the Oyster farm and sample some delicious fresh shellfish. Wind Surfing, swimming, snorkelling, but to name a few activities.This place is not just a beach its a little treasure and a pot of gold..en sands!!

Well passed our expectations. excellent display and examples of old vehicles of all makes and sizes. Also what a pleasure to meet a member of the family who owns' and restores the collection. we where even allowed, undersupervison, to look at one or two motorcycles in the "infirmary" Thanks.
Well worth the entry price and an enjoyable couple of hours looking at all the exhibits.

This well-kept marais has bicycle tracks ridged through it which take you right between the waterways. There are herons and gulls and the wind blows the sea winds across the ponds. Truly lovely in the afternoon light. If you ride from Jard sur Mer to Ilaude and on to Port La Guittiere, you can stop and have fresh oysters. That's all they serve: oysters in four sizes, rosé, fresh bread - and if you still have room: an ice cream.

It rained one day on our holiday, sadly everyone had the same idea and visited the aquarium. That said we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were polite, the prices not extortionate and the exhibits of a good quality. We tend to visit Aquariums and although not on par with last years visit to Biarritz it had some species we hadn't seen and lots of cabinets.

We were really impressed with this little playground - it is tucked into a forest (2 mins walk from the beach) with lots of play equipment and picnic tables dotted about between the trees. We visited with six kids aged from 1 to 8 years old on a very hot, sunny day and the shade was very welcome. It cost about €5 per child for the full day - they could come and go as they pleased. We spent about an hour and a half there, then went to the next door restaurant for lunch, and back in to the playground for another hour. I call that good value, especially considering its location. (The ice creams on offer were also not too expensive.)

Firstly the website does not tell you what to expect - or tie in with beautiful open water pictures.
The Payre river is a small channel that goes round the lake and into town, water is so low you often ground to kayak. It is dirty and full of rubbish. High banks means that on a Kayak you see nothing except the muddy water, and the bottom of a couple of largish moored boats, even with SUP the view is limited. There are no changing facilities or toilets so if you get wet - you are changing in the car.
Quite a number of mosquitos (or biting flies).
Really quite unpleasant. The photos are not of the Payre "river walk".
The trip out to the swamp may be better - but not keen to find out.
