Koh Kho Khao Island

LOVED Koh Kho Khao Island - quiet, relaxing - good swimming beaches - I stayed at DreamZ Ocean Pearl Resort - it has recently re-opened (December 2018) and I got a great deal. So good to get our of the madness of Patong and just chill out - I did nothing, other than swim and sunbake - exactly what I was looking for. Mama's restaurant, up the beach from the resort is definately worth walking along the beach to - beautiful family and great food - Pirates Bar, at Dreamz Ocean Pearl resort is excellent - brilliant staff, great nightly BBQ and the owner Ko, is very entertaining. Definately will be visiting again:)

Fabulous market. So much to see, smell, taste, hear and see! A band was playing, the stall holders were very friendly, vibrant colours of food & textiles, different herbs, vegetables and SO much food to try. Everything we tried was delicious. Make sure you go there hungry, you won’t be disappointed. Starts around 3pm on Sunday.

Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park

We had a great morning here. We started at the main entrance closest to Khao Lak. A brief stop a the first beach and at the restaurant. Beach nice restaurant not too good. Then a good trek to the small sandy beach. This took us nearly 2 hours. The track is a bit rough and I'm glad we wore sturdy shoes. We were quite hot and very glad to arrive at the beach. It's beautiful and not too busy. There is a shower and toilet also a shop for drinks. The track back from the beach to the main road is only 10 minutes easy path. That must be the way the little children arrived :)

Bang Niang Market

Bang Niang Market is located in the center of Bang Niang which again is in the center of the Khao Lak area. The market is open Monday , Wednesday , Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 till 22:00. Be prepared for the wonderful and thrilling fresh and local street food which you will think about when you are hungry while you are back home. If you come for a couple of hours in the early evening you arrive when the market is most exciting and buzzing with activities. There are many stalls selling souvenirs, T-Shirts and local handmade handicraft. In the street food section you can find skewers, spring rolls, seafood, and many other kinds of fresh Thai food. In the produce section you can find many well-known fruits and vegetables as well as produce you can only find in Thailand.

The market offers a wide variety of Thai street food. Everything from chicken skewers to stir fried insects. The atmosphere is friendly and I felt safe during my visit. If you want to buy something from the sale stalls, make sure you haggle over the price. All in all an enjoyable evening.

A lovely beach away from the crowds, a haven after some places in Thailand. Great for walking and swimming, not too crowded with beach bars should you feel the need of a cheeky cocktail.Lovely sunsets. A place to chill and relax.

Firstly, Saran finds out what his customer is hoping to experience and then delivers it to the best of his ability. We are interested in birds and all kinds of wildlife and were blessed to see baby Owls, a Python, Macques, Monitor Lizard, Little Cormorant, Kingfisher and BEST OF ALL we witnessed an Oriental Pied Hornbill feeding his family in the hollow of a tree ....
