Lakota Wolf Preserve

First, if you miss the shuttle be prepared to hike straight up steep and muddy inclines to arrive at your destination. The destination is a fenced in area that houses very cool wolves, bobcats and foxes. That's it folks. You pay a sizable fee, used to support the preserve, to see a bunch of animals behind fences. We were disappointed that we could not walk through the preserve or get a closer look at these beautiful creatures. In addition, the staff is VERY rude and inflexible. They do NOTHING to make your stay more pleasant and if you are relying on donations to support your facility it may be a good idea to treat your guests with respect and kindness.

We went during their annual harvest fest and it was amazing. My 21 month old daughter loved the animals and running around the farm. She really enjoyed the pony rides as well. The fresh baked cookies, bread and pretzels are a must. The beekeeper show for kids was also fun. They have great food, music and lots of fun things for kids to do and it was only a $10 admission fee wth kids under 3 free. They also have homemade ice cream, pickles, desserts etc. There is a shuttle from the parking lot to the farm as well.

Nice, peaceful place to walk through. Interesting rocks placed throughout park. We saw a turtle on our hike and enjoyed the pretty July day. There is a chapel and an interesting rock structure. Good place to take interesting photos for sure. It's odd that it is privately owned, I almost felt like I was on someone's property but I would definitely recommend it.

This is the second time we've paddled with EOW. Everyone is polite and knows what they're talking about. You can get a canoe anywhere- but you can't always find nice people who don't mind answering questions. They know everything there is to know about DWGNRA and are happy to help. I'll definately be back. Hopefully overnite canoe trip next time. Thanks!!

The new building and surroundings are beautiful. Went for a beer and wine tasting. Beers we're good and wines we're good as well. Thought the pairing was a little cheap but gave us something to joke about. We were splitting the tasting and thought the pairing might have been cheeses and meats but is stuff like one herrs chocolate flavored pretzel and one tiny cracker to dip in a jam. We asked if we can get a second tiny cracker for the other to try and was told only one cracker per tasting. Like I said, something to laugh about. Plan on going back and bringing friends when they stop up.

The Christmas Factory

Reviewed By GRNEYEDgirl3201 - Latrobe, Pennsylvania

What an amazing store loaded with an abundance of Christmas holiday merchandise, beautifully decorated Christmas trees, tons of amazing ornaments, garlands, figurines, and even decorated upside down Christmas trees! Don't miss the entrance from the main road, it is set back a bit up an angled drive. The street address is 2575 Milford Rd. There is a parking lot to the left of the building. The building actually looks like 3 separate structures attached to each other, making room for an amazing array and wonderfully displayed Christmas extravaganza! We actually entered into the side door towards the back of the building which went directly into the Christmas Store portion. The front entrance leads in to a Jewelry/Fashion Section, mostly costume jewelry, hair accessories, etc., but if you keep walking through from there you will experience "Christmas in July" as we did or any other month you happen to visit! The front portion of the building also has an opened balcony upstairs area of clearance items and another area up some steps to a general 'sale' merchandise section. Any type of ornament you could ever want or dream of can be found at this store! The prices were normal prices you would find with some items on 'sale'. The artistry in designing and decorating the various themed trees and displays was very impressive to see. If you are into Christmas decorating or just want a little dose of Christmas, check this store out when you are in the area!
