The home of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is located on the campus of Bethune-Cookman University, which she founded in 1904. Formerly known as "The Retreat," her home is now known as the Bethune Foundation and features precious pieces including her original library, furniture, photos and family heirlooms. Visitors who came during Dr. Bethune's time include Langston Hughes (Harlem Renaissance writer), Jackie Robinson (baseball legend) and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. We attended the 10 am service at this church a couple of weeks ago. The service lasts an hour or so, and followed the provided pamphlet. It was probably the most comfortable church service that I've attended. As, we were in Daytona camping, and we were able to get up and go to church with little to no fuss. Because you can stay in your vehicle, dress/make-up/hair is not an issue. They've also got a small seating area inside what looks to have once been a concession stand. Oh, and they serve donuts and coffee as well. I liked the idea of their current fundraiser with the personalized bricks for the walkway. However, at $125.00 per brick, I found the cost outrageous. Consider lowering the price of a brick, and you may find that you'll attract more donors? Overall, I would totally recommend a Sunday morning visit.

The historical ruins of the old sugar processing plant are in place with signs noting who owned this place back to the 1800's, peoples dreams shattered, and the county did a quality job constructing a walkway and covered building to preserve the artifacts. It's like you're walking over a "dig". Next, some visionary set about to make it an amusement park with dinosaurs constructed of concrete back in the early 50's. Well done. Unfortunately he was ahead of his time. Walt Disney beat him to the idea later. Next you'll be amazed by the gigantic oak trees moss covered. Just a peaceful place to get away for awhile. Close to Daytona. Kids will love the dinosaurs.

Daytona escape room is a great family fun experience. We did the Black Jewel and we had a blast. The room was challenging, creative but not impossible.The staff is super friendly and helpful it was just an awesome experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to try the new room. Soooo much fun.

Having visited here before, I had received an email advertising 20% off all services for the weekend. I booked a Gentlemans Manicure and a 50 minute Reflexology Massage online. I later called to confirm my appointments, and there was some confusion about who would be available at the time to provide those services. The bookings were moved up two hours earlier, which was fine, since I had decided to take the afternoon off, anyway. I received an excellent manicure from Brittany, and a fantastic massage from Tara. Both of them were very knowlegeable, professional, and personable. I look forward to returning again soon. Btw, I visited the South Daytona location.

I am not a big NASCAR fan, but this place is pretty awesome! To consider the skill of driving at such speeds and the engineering and mechanics required to keep it relatively safe, it sure earns my respect.
I know people have their favorite drivers but remember this is the King himself - King Richard!!!!

Beautiful park with interesting history. The pond with a fountain, walking path, and boardwalk is also the site where an eremotherium giant ground sloth remains was discovered. The nearly 14-foot specimen is on display at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach. The skeleton is the best preserved and most complete fossil of its species in North America.
Now the pond is used for rc boat races and feeding turtles. Nice area to walk your dog away from traffic. The topography of the disc golf course is spectacular with its super tall palm trees. Great park for photos. Also has new restroom facilities, playground, and picnic pavilion. All for the low, low price of FREE! Excellent place to spend a couple hours. Highly recommended!

The Tortugas are a member of the Florida State League, FSL, and play at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Daytona Tortugas are an affordable family, fun, friendly entertainment environment with a side of baseball. The Tortugas have the capabilities to host your family, reunions, corporate outings, groups or organizational get together's, etc. We offer a variety of food choices along with your traditional ballpark foods and great beverage specials, depending on the night. The stadium is named in honor of Jackie Robinson because Daytona Beach was the first Florida city to allow Robinson to play during the 1946 season's spring training. The game, which was played on March 17, 1946. A statue of Robinson is now located at south entrance to the ballpark. On October 22, 1998, the stadium was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places.

This ball park is an old wooden stadium where they still change the scoreboard by hand. It was once the home of Jackie Robinason and he is honored with a statue, However, today it is the home of the Cincinnati Tortugas. These boys of summer are having a tough season, but fans still love them, They had two great promotions wehn we were in town, Thirsty Thursdays with $1 beer and Mararita Friday where music and drink specials preceded the game. Go have fun, General Admission is only $8. It is located in the historic district of Daytona Beach.

Wow, 1,000,000 gulls! Not an exaggeration - the Gull Fly-in field trip from the Space Coast Birding Festival observed this specatacle that happens every winter and always features at least well over 100,000 gulls of several species each evening before dusk when the gulls go to roost on the ocean. This park is a great access point for viewing the gulls. Beach driving is permitted here, although very slowly. Safe, clean, free parking and rest rooms.
