It was a thrilling experience seeing the ruins of the island and how beautifully nature has taken charge. The highlight was the Guide Ms. Anuradha Rao who is a 4th gen Ross island inhabitant and truly a pleasure to listen to. The deer, peacocks, squirrels and rabbits followed her as she has taken care of them.

Jolly Buoy Island

It's a wonder on earth n thanks to the status of wildlife park, its preserved in most natural conditions Jolly buoy is 30 min drive from port Blair and overall half day visit. You take boat from wandoor jetty to jolly buoy island They have glass bottom boats at the island to give u a tour of corals, fishes in their natural habitat. The variety of coral types is mesmerizing n if u are lucky, u can spot octopus n Andaman turtles(very large) with star fish, sea cucumber n scores of other fishes. Infact water is so transparent That u can see fishes swimming On the beach, u can swim in crystal clear water. It's a litter free zone n non commercial so u have to carry sm food Other places in Andaman ar north bay, Havelock n elephanta, corals are bleached due to human activities, so only place to see thriving marine n coral life is Jolly buoy

Samudrika Marine Museum

Reviewed By Aryan2007 - Mumbai, India

Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is located in Port Blair and is a well known tourist attraction in the Andaman Islands. This place is also known as Fisheries Museum. It has more collection and info about Corals, sea shells, tribes of Andaman than Naval activities. This place has a wide range of installations which cover islands’ ecosystem, plants, animals, history, local tribal communities and marine life. This museum also includes a small aquarium that has live fishes, corals and shells. On the outside just the near the main entrance they have a huge skeleton of a blue whale that was washed ashore on the Nicobars. The Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is run by the Indian Navy and it has 5 rooms or galleries dotted which show cases the geography, anthropology and marine life of the Island. The museum is located centrally in Port Blair and is a must visit location. We spent almost 3-4 hours enjoying the place. My personal favorite was the gallery with Corals and Sea shells !!! Must visit place for people of all ages. They also play documentaries about the island which one can sit and watch peacefully to get better understanding of Andaman n Nicobar islands.

Chidiya Tapu

Reviewed By 172shalinis

Chidiya tapu is the sunset point of Port Blair. The view of the sun setting over the sea is just awesome as the entire Ocean slowly turns red.....One can sit and lose oneself in the beauty of nature. Takes about an hour to reach from Port Blair by vehicle. The road condition is not good as it meanders through the tropical forest. There is a biodiversity park just before chidiya tapu which one can visit with children. Thereafter one can proceed. Chidiya tapu has a scenic beach with seating area. There are trees uprooted in the tsunami which make a great photo point. Swimming is allowed only inside the enclosed area as there are salt water crocodiles in the area. NOT advisable to take chances.... One can trek from the beach to Munda pahar. The view from the top is amazing. Worth a half day visit if one has the time. Advisable to carry some foodstuff as there are very few vendors selling some basic stuff like coconut water. Beach closes at 5 pm.

Makruzz

Makruzz is a luxury catamaran service, operating between Port Blair, Havelock in Neil in the emerald isles of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is the first and the largest privately owned fleet in the Andamans. The professionalized service coupled with luxurious interiors and fastest travel time has made MAKRUZZ, a favourite and the first choice of tourists and islanders alike, despite the presence of increased competition over the years. On its initiation, the passenger ferry was dedicated to the tourism industry by the then Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lt. Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM. The owners and the staff continue to dedicate immense efforts to improve user experience and aid the growth of Brand Andaman. Today, MAKRUZZ remains not only a top attraction but also a vital infrastructure in the tourism industry of the islands.

Traveled by Makruzz-Deluxe class from a) Port blair to Havalock b) Havalock to Neil island c) Neil island to Port blair. The sailing was smooth & comfortable. We were provided snacks (only in Deluxe class). No sea-sickness experienced. Makruzz -Gold class type ships are more comfortable. Travelers luggage should be handled by Makruzz staff in more professional way.saw them throwing the baggages & 1-2 co-passengers had complained about damaged bags. But they were compensated by the staff, thats the good part.....

Our Trip to Andamans this January started with a visit to this beautiful beach, around one hour from our Resort. We were truly mesmerized by the clear blue sea water and white sand. The beach is very neat. The beach being far away from the centre of Port Blair,we had less crowds......spent around 2 hours enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings.....Swimming is strictly prohibited due to the danger of crocodiles.....that's what we were told. this beach is a Photographer's paradise....beautiful view of near by islands from this beach.......you have a resort nearby this beach " SEA PRINCESS",where you can have food with a view of the beach.....you also have some shops selling Souvenirs like beads, pearls, necklaces and also Andamanese tribes like Jarawas....

Green Ocean Ferry

Reviewed By sonal810 - New Delhi, India

We travelled on a day when sea was very rough with high tides. It’s the only ferry which can travel in any weather and u can come out on deck to see the sea , the waves, feel the breeze , see different islands of andaman and if lucky dolphins too . Booked this for return to see the sea , mackruz does not slow people to come out of the cabin. Not as luxurious as makruz but it’s worth it as u can see the sea, listen music on the deck , Dancing people.
