Cheesequake State Park

I have been coming here for years. When I was a kid it was for the lake and picnic areas. Now I refuse to go to the lake as the people who seem to go are rude, loud and obnoxious. They do have an area to buy food, but it's a bit over priced. Outside of the lake area are great walking, hiking and biking trails. It is quite beautiful and you may even forget you're in NJ for a bit. Try to load the car up as entry during the "on season" is charged per car.

Woodbridge Community Center

My wife and I have been retired for a few years now. We were in somewhat good shape and loved working out years ago. Well we kept putting off getting back into shape for no real good reason. We live less than a mile from the community center and drive pass frequently. Well there was an offer to signup at a reduced rate. We decided to give it a try and was quite surprised at what was offered there. We workout several times per week and also enjoy shooting pool and just meeting new people. We have been having fun going and getting in better shape. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We used to visit this park in late 90s when we were living in Iselin. When we visited a few weeks ago, we were delighted to see the park so much improved with facilities and upkeep. There are spots for picnics, playing, place for artists to perform and everything a good community park should have. Felt very nice to be here.

Perth Amboy Waterfront

Reviewed By WildmanWong - Spring, TX

I know that Perth Amboy doesn't necessarily have the best reputation. We had a great time many years ago and thought let us head back there to do some sailing.

Our family has a 36 foot boat that is moored here. Took the launch to our boat and sailed on a Friday - the last day of summer. The winds were light to non-existent. Even so, we were able to go slowly and enjoy the harbor. The winds picked up and we relaxed as we enjoyed the water, the sun, and the view of Staten Island. Are you kidding?

Not at all. What a relaxing day. There weren't too many boats in the area. Once sunset came we got to enjoy a beautiful skyline with the sun setting. If you were in the mood you could have gotten dinner at the Armory.

This place is close to where we live (about 45 min away) which makes it ideal. Yes, there are other places to keep your boat (yes, we've tried a lot of places in a 100 mi radius) but this place works for us.

My kids are at Air Trampoline in Aberdeen Nj this evening jumping after dark session...
After over an hour the staff took away their socks because they were Sky Zone and threw them in the trash, which prompted my daughter to do the best thing and call DAD!
I called and spoke with the manager Justin who was totally useless and I politely gave him 2 options...
1) give my kids their socks back within the next 20 min
2) I'm coming down there and bringing Aberdeen police department with me
He then got nasty with me saying he's not going and looking in the trash for socks, which prompted me to say, so you're saying you'd rather option #2??
He then started yelling into the phone which I sad I'll see you shortly......
In the end, they finally got their socks back....
Kids are kids! They grab jump socks and run out the door
NO REASON AND NO RIGHT to take anything from anyone!!!!

Thomas Edison Museum

I have lived in Edison my entire life and kind of took the light and museum for granted. One day my husband and I took a tour of the museum. We go to see the light often but I never was in the museum. What a wonderful experience. Kathleen was so friendly and informative!!! What made me want to see it was that we saw a young couple from Texas outside taking pictures - a husband, wife and small child. If they felt it was important enough to make it a vacation stop we should be ashamed of ourselves living in Edison and not visiting it!!!! We are so glad that we did!! What a treasure.

Cornucopia Cruise Line

Reviewed By Susan S - Freehold, New Jersey

Four of us enjoyed a Saturday four hour lunch cruise on the Cornucopia, and it was a wonderful experience. Parking is easy, and the directions to the location are well marked and simple to follow. We were (fortunately) assigned a table on the upper of the two dining decks, and had a window to enjoy the view. Tables are a bit close together, but we managed and were careful of the others seated nearby. The food selections were numerous, and everything we had was delicious: They offered Caesar salad, chicken, salmon, sliced beef, carved roast beef, carved Turkey, rice, vegetables, etc. - so many choices! Our server, John, made sure we always had plenty of water, tea, and wine (a separate cost) from the bar. Desserts were cakes - tiramisu, cheesecake, and chocolate; you could have one or all three. The cakes were sinfully good. There was plenty of time between lunch and dessert to walk around or go up and sit on the upper deck to enjoy the beautiful vistas. We were extremely fortunate to have gone on an unusually warm October day, so it was especially nice to sit in the sun and watch the sights on the water. I had purchased our tickets using a Living Social coupon, so the cost for four was a bargain, but I was a bit surprised to be hit with additional charges for taxes, etc., when I called to make the actual reservation. The bar bill was separate, as well. I thought it a bit tasteless that the bar bill included the words - circled! - that the gratuity was not included. Tacky! My only other complaint was that the DJ, playing on the lower deck, was asked three times to lower the music a bit because we could not hear each other as we were having dessert. The DJ did not play during the main meal. Instead of complying with our requests, he made the music louder each time. Not funny and not appreciated. The food was great, our server was terrific, and the views on the water were gorgeous, so all in all, it was a positive experience.
