Great park, but it is closed due to Covid...really love this spot. Maybe it will reopen soon. Maybe a drive along East brow for a view or hike on Rainbow Lake trail for exercise.

Rainbow Lake Trail

Reviewed By GoVols79 - Chattanooga, United States

My family and I recently hiked on the Rainbow Lake Trail and had a great time. The trail is on Signal Mountain and the trailhead is not too far off Taft Highway. There is a small parking lot that can fill up during weekends and times with nicer weather. The trail is part of a network of trails on Signal Mountain and also connects with the Cumberland Trail. There is a map at the start of the trail. From the parking lot it is around a mile to the dam and mainly downhill. It is not overly steep though so while the return trip is harder it's not awful. At the bottom of the trail you arrive at the dam that was used to create Rainbow Lake. The dam only partially holds back the water now so it is less of a lake and more like a stream. I was told by a Signal Mountain resident that the water has been contaminated by surrounding neighborhoods so you want to avoid playing in the water. Just down from the dam is the suspension bridge which leads to more trails. We went down this way for a just a bit and explored some of the huge rock formations. The Rainbow Lake Trail is a great way to spend a few hours while on Signal Mountain. It is easy to find and suitable for most anyone.

Falling Water Falls

Reviewed By nrs1321 - Boynton Beach, United States

Was really nice, beautiful views, took some great pictures with fall leaves. It’s a nice quick hike, took longer hanging out where the fall dropped and where along the creek where the kids played. There are no railings so make sure little ones are close by and holding hands near the waterfall and the overlook. Your at the top Of the fall so it’s hard to see it when you look down. It was a nice drive to get to as well.
