My husband and I visited Kingsbrae Garden while in Saint Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick. What an absolutely wonderful place to visit. It doesn't take a terribly long time to see all of the wonderful displays and Gardens which is a good thing because we didn't have a lot of time the day we went. But you can spend a good deal of time there if you choose. It is tranquil , calming and lovely. We were delighted by the resident alpacas, goats and peacocks. There is a 100-year old hedge you walk through to get started in the Gardens. I took a photograph of what it looks like inside the hedge. I included it with this review but for some reason in this review I wasn't given the opportunity to label the photographs. From 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM the staff brings out some of the animals to graze on that line in front of the beautiful home that now serves as a café. What a delightful experience that would be for children. We, of course, enjoyed it too. The garden boasts a unique 2 million year old plant! It's worth the price of admission--which is very reasonable--to come in and see this treasure.
No visit to Saint Andrews-by-the-Sea is complete without a stroll through the Kingsbrae Gardens.

The volunteers here are amazing and painstakingly work to help you find your family history, even when there doesn't seem to be solid info to follow. I spent two afternoons here researching my family's 20 years of living in the Saint Andrews area. Did not find the lead I was looking for to trace them back to their Ireland hometown, but had a great time there doing my research.

Although the St. Andrews Blockhouse is a rather small attraction it's definitely worth visiting so that you can learn more about the history of the area as well as explore the beautiful natural surroundings at the Blochouse.
There are plenty of historical signs that will give you more information about the history of Saint Andrews as well as of the Blockhouse itself, so it's a great place to check out if you're interested in history or you just want to admire the historic wooden structure.
There aren't any other blockhouses left in the area so it's also pretty unique as well.
One of the highlights of visiting the Blockhouse is that you are able to take advantage of a beautiful view and if you visit during low tide you can walk quite far out onto the beach.
Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting the Blockhouse if you're going to be in Saint Andrews.
There is free parking right out front and it's just a short walk from the Historic downtown if you'd rather Explore on foot.

This lovely 1824 Georgian mansion holds not only a wonderful love story, but also a surprising collection of fine early New Brunswick furniture, paintings by Canadian and California artists and artefacts collected by the museum's benefactors, Henry and Juliette Ross on their world travels.Free admission, donations appreciated. The Ross Memorial Museum offers personal guided tours,self-guiding materials and an exhibit highlighting photographs, video and special artefacts.The museum is open June to Canadian Thanksgiving, Monday to Saturday 10am to 4:30pm and off season by chance or appointment.

The house was actually purchased by a couple to display the many items that they collected on their travels around the world, along with antiques that they had purchased throughout their life. There were many very beautiful items on display, and the stories about the couple were also very interesting.

The Huntsman Marine Science Centre (Huntsman) is a registered, private, not-for-profit research and science-based teaching institution located in St. Andrews, New Brunswick. The hands-on school programs have engaged over 45,000 students - ranging from elementary school age to university graduate level. he Huntsman has also welcomed over 700,000 members of the general public through the operation of its aquarium facility, the new Fundy Discovery Aquarium opened on September 1, 2011. The education programs of the Huntsman have been pioneering; knowledge-based activities that have influenced the development of highly qualified personnel in the marine sciences and the oceans industry sector of the Canadian economy. The Huntsman Fundy Discovery Aquarium is open from 10 am to 5 pm, every day from mid-May to mid-October. Daily activities include Behind the Scenes tours and feeding presentations for salmon, seahorses and seals.

We had a rainy day in Saint Andrews and decided to check out this top attraction. I'm sorry to say, but there is just not enough here. I respect a small community trying to do their part, but maybe there could be more activities? Especially for children. The seahorse feeding took forever and I saw many children (including one of the little people I was with) very bored. We then enjoyed the touch tank while waiting for the seal feeding, but then when it came time for that, there was absolutely no possibility of seeing anything due to the viewing window being completely blocked. We were in and out in under an hour.

While strolling along in beautiful St.Andrews we came across this lovely establishment and got to visit their beautiful garden. I was a treat. Lovely little shop in the original Land Registry building, selling all kinds of gardening hand tools and other related items

Dayspring is the largest home in St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, Canada. It was built in 1928 for Lewis Egerton Smoot, an American businessman from Washington. The name Dayspring was derived from a passage in the Book of Luke symbolizing the rising sun. In 1947 Dayspring was sold to Algoma Steel, then owned by Sir James Dunn. Algoma transferred ownership to Sir James and he and his third wife, Marcia Anastasia Christoforides made it their principal residence. In 1995 Dayspring was purchased by Vincent Prager, a lawyer from Montreal and the only son of Eva Prager O.C. and eldest grandson of Joseph Oppenheimer R.P. He lived at Dayspring until 2011 when he donated it to The Joseph and Fanny Oppenheimer Foundation so that a Museum could be opened – the Oppenheimer-Prager Museum at Dayspring – to exhibit works by Joseph Oppenheimer and Eva Prager, as well as interesting objects, jewelry, memorabilia and objects and photos related to the Dunn’s, Beaverbrooks and Dayspring itself.

This museum has been open for about 3 years now. The review from August 25 is very accurate and informative. In addition the tour guides are very knowledgeable. The history behind the paintings is fascinating. The custom architecture and custom hardware on the doors and windows adds to the value of the tour. Mr. Prager lives next door and dropped in and talked about the collection and history. We spent a little more than 2 hours here. Could have spent more time. The captions next to the paintings and collectibles are done quite well. Enjoy.

We brought our family (adult children) who enjoyed the centre but I'm not sure young children would enjoy this centre. We were disappointed that we did not get a tour by a guide. Interesting history about wild salmon and their future conservation efforts.
