Riyadh (/rɨˈjɑːd/; Arabic: الرياض‎ ar-Riyāḍ Najdi pronunciation: [er.rɪˈjɑːðˤ]) is the capital and most populous city of Saudi Arabia. It is also the capital of Riyadh Province and belongs to the historical regions of Najd and Al-Yamama. It is situated in the centre of the Arabian Peninsula on a large plateau and home to more than six million people.

This is definitely the biggest Mosque in Riyadh and probably most frequented for funeral prayers. It had a parking area and a few shops for charity organizations.

Al Masmak Fortress

This renovated 19th-century mud fortress looks like a giant sandcastle, and contains costumes, handicrafts, a sitting room, a courtyard and a well.

Masmak Fort museum is must to see. The Fort is built from clay and mud-brick, it has four watchtowers and thick walls. The fort is lying in the center of the old quarters of Riyadh. Masmak played a major part in the kingdom's history; it gives a nice introduction to the beginnings of the Saudi Arabia. Admission is free. There is a small gift store with handmade native gifts.

Kingdom Tower is the tallest building in Riyadh and has a modern architecture style. The shopping mall below has lots of facilities and cafes to visit. Skybridge is the place up to 99 th floor and you can see Riyadh from above

Saudi Arabia’s largest zoo, housing some 40 species of animals, permits either a mother or a father to accompany children but does not allow the whole family to vist together.

Very clean and well spaced out. Animals have plenty of space to live comfortably. Kids really enjoyed the trip. Beautiful and well groomed elephants and giraffes. Would recommend for a family visit. I would definitely visit again.
