Richmond (/ˈrɪtʃmənd/ RICH-mənd) is a city in western Contra Costa County, California, United States. The city was incorporated on August 7, 1905. Located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, Richmond borders the cities of San Pablo, Albany, El Cerrito and Pinole in addition to the unincorporated communities of North Richmond, Hasford Heights, Kensington, El Sobrante, Bayview-Montalvin Manor, Tara Hills, and East Richmond Heights, and for a short distance San Francisco on Red Rock Island in the San Francisco Bay. Richmond is one of two cities, the other being San Rafael, California, that sits on the shores of San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay simultaneously.

Wonderful museum with great displays and short films that tell the story. Coordinate your visit around a scheduled talk by Ranger Betty Soskin. She is a compelling and inspiring speaker who weaves past and present into her own riveting story. History comes alive and you will not be disappointed. At 96 years young, she is a national treasure!

We have visited Tilden Park several times in the past year. Our toddler loves riding the trains and we enjoy the nature walks. The train rides are fun for the entire family. The train models are very well designed and lot of fun to explore. Pack a picnic and enjoy the entire day here.

This establishment has a fantastic staff, very warm and welcoming. They're very knowledgeable and accommodating. There are food trucks outside with amazing food and games to pass the time with good friends while enjoying fantastically brewed beer. Excellent selection allowing the avid brew taster to venture beyond the mundane. The atmosphere is open and airy with the echo of laughter from patrons truly enjoying their time together. I will be back for sure! Great job gents!

Point Isabel,,just West of 80 on Central,, has a great bike path up to the old Ford Plant,
the Best Dog Park, and windsurfing,, pretty great little place.
For instance today , it was 90 degrees in Benicia, and 70 degrees for a bike ride by the water from point Isabell up past the Richmond Marina

Wow. Excellent tour of Alcatraz. Exceeded my expectations. The free audio tour was awesome. The only negative was that you couldn't pause the audio tour device. Once you start the play button, it plays until the end. This was inconvenience because there were some times where you'd like to stay a little longer to look around at a specific area. Also, it can get crowded with everyone standing around at each location waiting for the audio tour to tell you to move to the next attraction spot.
After the audio tour you're free to roam around and see the entire island. My favorite was the recreation yard. Unfortunately, a lot of the old guard towers are gone now due to neglect.
I'd definitely like to do this again, maybe a guided tour or a night tour.

This non-profit museum is run by a group of model train enthusiasts who gladly answer questions. You are free to walk and look at your own pace. This group has created backdrops representing key railroad paths in California; these are as much fun to view as are the trains. It really looks like miniature California landscapes prepared to proper scale in relation to the trains. The named train towns, such as Martinez, include historical miniature buildings with people, plants & animals for the time period when trains were in their heyday in that city. There are two different gauge tracks layed out that run the length of this building so there are lots of details to view. For safety, the public is not allowed to touch any of the historical renderings. All scenery and functional components are created by the talented museum members. On Sundays the trains are running and there is a small entry fee. On other days entry is free.

I've done a lot of escape rooms and the one we did at OMescape was both challenging and had incredible technology to it. Really fun and difficult. I would recommend you do the easier rooms before working up to the harder ones as they are seriously difficult.

As a university professor elsewhere I can really appreciate the environment at this academic campus. The educational quality of this institution is worldwide recognize and its location is definitely ideal: relatively small community (Berkeley) near a rather cosmopolitan city at large like the bay area.

The Marina Bay Trail is one of the best waterfront trails around! It's clean, wide, smooth with lots of wild flora and fauna. Eventually the Richmond Bay Trails will all connect and be a great outing for the fit and choosy. The only thing missing, imho, is a great cafe looking out on the views with simple, tasty food and great coffee, tea and fresh lemonade. Someone needs to take a look at what Bellingham, WA has achieved.

This area of Tilden Park is a popular local gathering of young children and parents who enjoy seeing farm animals and feeding them. You need to bring "greens--celery works best or lettuce" to feed the cows, goats, sheep and horses. This is my grandson's (just turned 3 years) favorite place to visit and run around. The Tilden park area is vast and had several other areas to explore (train ride, carousel rides, nature hikes, botanical gardens). It's a wonderful area to spend several hours with your family.
