Noccalula Falls Park & Campground

Large park featuring waterfalls.

Reviewed By AshleyF01 - Boston, Massachusetts

We came up for the day to visit the park including the petting zoo and realized the park was closed until March. The overlook area was still open to the public as well as several trail areas. We found an unmarked challenging trail to take us under the waterfall. It was beautiful and rewarding for our 10 year old. It's worth the 2 hour trip from Montgomery

WE arrived to this awesome site to get some survey dives and get to work together as a team. The Valdez family were real good folks and they gave pretty good dive data, the site is clear and the viz swell, the things only I...MoreThanks for the input "Emanuel S", plastic will be accepted next season. Nitrox will be available when there is enough demand for the cost of providing it. Thanks for diving with us and we look forward to your next visit.

Silver Lakes Golf Course

The appropriately named Heart, Mind and Backbreaker nines are definately challenging but very good golf at a great price. Tip: after 3pm prices are about 1/2 off. Course was in great shape too, as are all of the RTJ Trail courses. I would probably play better after a few rounds to get more local info.

Back Forty Beer Co

Reviewed By clemson_grad79 - north_alabama

We played golf earlier and the day and a cold draft beer sounded good so we thought we would give this brewery a shot. Wife got a Saison draft and I the peanut butter porter. Wife didn't particularly care for the Saison but that was just due to personal tastes. My peanut butter porter was very smooth for a porter and I then tried their stout which also was good. We did not try their food but they bring in Dreamland BBQ to sell. The bartender said they buy it and truck it in from Dreamland. The place was fairly empty being mid afternoon on a weekday but it was a nice homey place to grab a beer and cool down.

Wonderful place to live....mountains and water...nothing better! Some of the most picturesque sunsets and wildlife to be found in Alabama. We've lived here 8 years and it's still like a daily " vacation" that we get to enjoy. Not only a great retirement town, and sweet community, but great place for families.

What a great respite just behind the Gadsden Mall! Calm, serene and beautiful landscape in this walking park just off a major thoughfare. This is one of the great strolls with water, trees and even a bit of wilderness right in town. I highly recommend spending some time walking through this cool, shady place.
