The zoo park store is messy and filthy, . The conditions where animals are kept, are appalling. Almost all animals where caged in minimum space, suffering from the ''cage syndrome''. Overall, I would highly advise visitors to avoid this zoo park

St. Ephraim Monastery

Reviewed By Joseph G - Montreal, Canada

St. Ephraim Monastery set in the middle of an olive grove is a place of pilgrimage to a Saint known for his miracles especiallly for people praying for the healing of illnesses
Venerated as a martyr and miracle-maker, brother Ephraim is believed to have lived from 1384 to 1426 when he was tortured and killed (hung from a tree) by the Turks. His status as a Saint is however controversial as there are no sources testifying to his existence as a historical person but believers regard him as a "newly revealed" Saint whose existence is a matter of divine revelation.
The complex is a stone structure with nice vegetation and makes for an easy and peaceful visit.

Temple of Artemis

The museum and the archeological site give you very strange impressions and make you wonder for many things. There is elevator in order the museum to be wheelchair accessible but the elevator is out of operation. There is an automatic vending machine but it is out of operation (and nobody places a sign as I saw some people loosing money there). There are areas of the archeological site (also mentioned in signs on the road) but once you ask you are replied "There is nothing to see there, therefore it is closed". For some strange reason, the same moment that other sites and museums are not sufficiently manned and partially, for this reason, are closed...here, in this small museum and site there is a watcher every 50m (?!) very eager to say "don't" in everything (situation becomes frustrating if you have your children with you). Some of the important exhibits have been transferred to other museums. The whole archeological site is really small and has "not much to be seen" (More time you spend in order to walk from museum to the archeological site than in the archeological site itself). Various areas and information signs are decayed. I am sorry to say but I was disappointed. Please note also: The site is in significant distance from down town Athens and probably you will have to spend significant time for your excursion. The ticket costs 6 Euros.

Amphibious Diving Center is a Classic. Theofilos, the instructor, goes above and beyond and teaches me things about scuba I didn't even know although I am definitely NOT a rookie when it comes to all things sea. He is professional, thorough, has a killer personality and I trust him, hands down. He emphasizes safety while diving. He is absolutely patient with us and does not push us beyond our capabilities and comfort levels. Each training day, he assesses our competency with a fresh eye and is always ready to give us feedback when we ask how we can improve.
Highly recommended.

Had the place did not have play areas dedicated for children our visit would have went in vain. Good thing there a nice park just next to the outlet mall.
Another advantage is that you could visit this place the same day you visit the zoo.
Did not get lucky while shopping however, kids got pretty lucky while playing :)
