As an irregular golfer, an invitation to play in a golf day caused me some consternation, and just one lesson at the academy bolstered my confidence sufficiently to play and I had a great day without embarrassing myself! Looking forward to booking more sessions in 2018.

Amazing collection of yachts, all sizes. Lovely walk from Quarteira where we were staying. Lots of restaurants, Irish pub, bars, cafe's and shops to explore. Easy flat walk along the beach boardwalk. It was off season so pretty quiet, but imagine in the summer this would be the place for evening entertainment and night time dining.

A huge beach to the east of Albufeira. Beautiful colours in the cliff. Wide sandy beach. Good wooden staircase down to the beach. Not a lot of parking considering the size of the beach. The small cafe at the stairs has decent washrooms.

We have been in the area many times over past 30 years but this was our first visit to the Vila
At only €3 each it is a token payment and when we went there were only another 3 people there. We spent an hour looking around the site and in the small exhibition but we found it very interesting and informative.

Praia do Barranco das Belharucas

Reviewed By Springy17 - Beverley, United Kingdom

We walked to this beach from Vilamoura early one morning. Wonderful views, peaceful beach. Not that many spots to stop for a drink along the way so make sure you take plenty of water along. Stopped here for a drink and a bite to eat. Sat in the beach bar, Golfinho, looking out to sea and didn't want to move. If you are walking back to Vilamoura too the tide comes in and the beach is a little sloped and harder to walk along on the way back.

My wife has just completed her first golf lesson which she was very apprehensive about. Peter Lester managed to turn that apprehension to joy and exhilaration in just 90 minutes.
Now she's hooked on golf and can't wait to get going. In fact I've had 3 hours of her telling me how good it was and how patient Peter is. I would recommend anyone who wants to try golf in a relaxed atmosphere and setting to contact Lester's Golf if they are coming to the Algarve.
We're booking to come back in February for a week, so my wife can have an intensive course and also so that I can tweak my game with Peter's professional help.
If you want to take up golf or tweak your game I thoroughly recommend Peter Lester.

Stayed for a week in late Oct with 2 children (age 8 and 11)
Pros:
Rooms are clean, modern and spacious.
The TV has several English channels beyond the standard news ones.
The outdoor pool is large and has lots of sun loungers.
Indoor pool is warm. Both open 8-8.
Check in was quick and simple. Staff spoke excellent English and we're really friendly and helpful.
Although the aqua park wasn't open it is amazing! ( we were in Portugal in May and vitited the water park but did not stay in the hotel) it is open May to Sept I think. Although that was reflected in the price.
Breakfast was OK. Variety was good. Pastries, cooked English, meats and cheeses, fruit, different breads, cereal. Good selection of hot drinks and juices.
Lovely pillows!!!
Fridge is small but enough to fit a few big bottles of water in.
Pint of beer at the bar €3
Plenty of free parking.
Small but well equipped gym.
Cons: Beach is not within walking distance. We had a car so we were OK but I think you need one if you want to venture out.
In October, the sun doesn't hit the pool till 11.30ish so it's a bit cold (although it warmed up ok)
Some drinks felt over priced. €3.50 for a slush, €7.50 for a mojito.
Really stupid but it wound me up..... the butter is kept down the opposite end of the restaurant to the toaster and the milk is at the opposite end to the tea making facilities.
We didn't see any real kids entertainment in the evenings. Didn't bother us but some might miss it.
Tips.....
A local restaurant called Piu Pollock which does pizzas and chicken is amazing and they deliver to Aquashow. Only a 5-6 min drive and opposite Lidl. Well worth a go!
Lidl is only approx 3km away. And no one stopped me drinking my own drinks at the pool!
There is a gypsy market opposite Lidl which was a nice little trip.
If you have a car take a trip to Lagos. Beautiful beach!
Overall a fab hotel!!
