Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park - Water Park

Reviewed By Christopher M - Stevensville, Maryland

Although this is a very clean and updated campground , everything is expensive. Visitors have to buy a parking pass, food at pool is expensive along with everything else. Maybe because it's a franchise. We probably will never return due to the fees.

The nightly rates for full hook ups and cabins are insane for a campground. Camping store is limited to any food supplies. Sites are tight and hilly. Young children can't ride bikes.

It was Quilt Week in Lancaster, and we went to this well-known store that features quilt fabric, products, kits, books, and even more. Beautiful stuff and friendly staff. The reason for four stars instead of five was because it was so crowded, you almost couldn't move. I feared that would happen since MANY quilters would be in the area.

Choo Choo Barn

Over 70 years in the making, this gigantic model train layout is still owned and operated by the Groff family. Master modeler, Tom Groff, designs and adds new animations, scale buildings and local scenes each year. See a fire engine race to the rescue to put out the fire at a burning house – with real water! Watch in awe as night falls over Traintown, USA. You’ll recognize local landmarks like Dutch Wonderland and the Strasburg Railroad – in detailed miniature! This is much more than a train display – it is an amazing, hand-built work of art.

Back at the Choo Choo Barn again. This time to see it decked out for Christmas. As usual, we weren't disappointed. All of the Holiday decorations and little additions were perfect. And during when it's "nighttime" there, some of the decorations and Christmas trees even light up. Plan on going around the display at least twice in order to see some of things you might have missed the first time.

The Experience: Short straight track. Family run facility, family oriented. I went for the Monster Truck Show. Reasonable prices.

I went with someone because I didn't know if I would feel safe alone in the environment. I felt very safe. Many families, lots of kids.

The drivers at the pre show acted like they were very happy to take pictures with the kids and their trucks - at no cost!

Food is available.

Getting out there's a lot of vehicles! You might think to try to head out a little before the end of the show/event.

Would definitely go again.

American Music Theatre

American Music Theatre is the only theatre of its kind in the country that features both touring concerts and Original Shows. This 1,600-seat theatre hosts more than 300 live performances a year – from Broadway tours to rock legends to famous comedians to today’s hottest acts. Since its debut in 1997, they’ve welcomed Grammy winners, CMA winners, Tony winners, and even Oscar winners to their stage. They’ve also featured some of the most talented musicians, vocalists, and dancers in the nation in their own Original Shows. No other theatre in the region offers a wider variety of performances, year in and year out. Take the opportunity to catch a show in the comfort of one of the most premier venues on the East Coast for live entertainment.

We always love the shows at the American music theater. The Christmas show was spectacular. The voices, the dancing, the music, the costumes all made to show a wonderful experience. I do wish the staff would be a little bit friendlier. Many seem to lose their patients very quickly when asked questions. Maybe it was just the hecticness of the season.

AAA Buggy Rides

An amazing Horse and Buggy Ride through Amish Country and a real covered bridge on a back country road. You can also get out of the buggy and tour a private working Amish farm to experience Authentic Amish life first hand.

Reviewed By SnowyShasta - Portland, Oregon

We took a 35-minute buggy ride with AAA buggy rides. It was really more of a wagon, not what I'd consider a buggy, which held about 10 people. My son enjoyed the offer to sit up front with the driver. The ride was more of a ride than a tour - the driver answered questions they were asked and volunteered a little information, but most of the ride was in silence. We followed a basically circular route that went past Amish farms and schools and some nice pastoral landscape. Tip - we were able to print a voucher from their website that gave $2 off for each person in our group, which was nice. When we visited, on a Friday in July, we signed up and had about 30 minutes to wait before our ride. The area has several shops and food options all in the same parking lot area, so we found it pretty easy to wander around and kill time until our ride started.

Bird in Hand Farmers Market is a must stop when we are in the area. The place is ram jam packed with so many varieties of goods, foods and deliciousness. Breads, jellies, meats, veggies, fudge and my two weaknesses…cheese & beef jerky. It’s a great stop to make before heading home from your visit to the area. All in all…definitely give them a try!
