2 of my relatives and a friend had booked a tour with Ramasside Tours. I decided to meet up with them while they were visiting Cairo. I attempted to book a 3 day tour with Ramasside Tours with 1 day and the following morning overlapping with my relatives tour. My flight was scheduled to arrive in Cairo at noon. Ramasside Tours said that they would pick me up at the airport and take me directly to the hotel. Since my time was limited in Cairo, I wanted to do some sightseeing after being picked up at the airport. I told Ramasside Tours exactly where I wanted to go (Memphis and Saqqara) that afternoon. They would not adjust their schedule to accommodate my request. I asked them a few times to go sightseeing that afternoon and they ignored my requests. On the evening of the second day, we wanted to watch the Al-Tannoura Egyptian Heritage Show. They quoted me a price of $65 per person to see the show when the show only costs 30 Egyptian pounds (USD $3.93). We also wanted to add in a felucca ride on the morning of the last day. The quoted me a price of $45 per person. They also offered me a walking tour of Islamic Cairo for an extra $60. I found these prices to be a huge rip off and decided to look for another tour company. I booked another company that offered me the Tannoura Show for $14/person, felucca for $12/person, and the Islamic walking tour was included in the price of the tour. In the end I only booked a day tour of the pyramids, museum, and Khan El Khalili Market for $95 (including entrance fee to the largest pyramid) with Ramasside Tours.
Despite the difficulties of booking with Ramasside Tours, our guide, Waleed, was fantastic. He provided us with a significant amount of information about the pyramids, Egyptian history, etc. He answered all of our questions, took pictures for us, arranged an awesome camel ride at the pyramids for us, gave us a very informative tour of the museum, and helped us get cheaper prices in the market. He was great and I would definitely recommend the guide and use him again. We found Cairo to be very safe and the people welcoming. I loved Cairo and all that it has to offer. I am looking forward to returning some day.
Overall, I think that if you use the tours that are already set by Ramasside Tours, then you won't have a problem. However, if you try to customize the tour, it doesn't seem possible with Ramasside Tours and I would look for a different tour company. 3 stars for the tour company and 5 stars for the guide.

Linking the Mediterranean to the Red Sea, this canal stretches more than 100 miles extending from Port Said to Port Tawfiq (near Suez), connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Gulf of Suez and thence with the Red Sea.
Travelling through the worlds' longest man made Canal having 104.5 miles length and 197 feet width constructed for facilitating the tedious African Voyage was another memorable experience..The Prestigious Task of this great project being undertaken by both Egyptian and British Governments needs special mention being completed after ten years with planned vision having historical importance in World History. It underwent various phases and claims leading to the ownership rights and now is under Egypt. Our vehicle went through the 2 km long tunnel, having proper lighting arrangements, protections, security and enough space without fear but with with hopes.Remembering the great man made project and the great sacrifices we reached Cairo.

The vivid paintings depict major aspects of this crisis, giving a sense of why it shook the region for much of that year. The War of 1973 is also covered. Very little of the posted info is in English however but it is worth a visit for anyone interested in Egypt's modern history. There are statues and other exhibits, and in the garden outside some military equipment, including some US made materiel, is exhibited. Here are some video screens inside the well kept building, but none was functioning the day I visited. Unfortunately the sole staff member on duty spoke not a word of English so go with an Arab-speaking friend if you want to fully understand the exhibits.

Nile Blue Excursions Welcome you to Egypt land of history, We organize Egypt shore excursions from Alexandria, Port said, Safaga and other Egyptian ports.
"Nile Blue is Outstanding!
We have used Nile Blue for shore excursions to Luxor and Cairo in 2008, 2010, and 2011, and have found them to be truly outstanding. The first time, my husband and I chose to book individual tours, while the next two times our groups ranged from 4 to 12 persons. We had a wonderful experience in Egypt each time because of Nile Blue’s outstanding service in all aspects of our tours. Our tour guides, Dalia, Mohammed, and Hazem, were exceptional, giving us great insight into Egyptian history and art. In terms of price, Nile Blue was much lower than our ship's excursion to Luxor (using the same itinerary and hotel). We especially like their payment policy, allowing for payment on arrival. We feel we received excellent value for our money. Hazem, owner and general manager, and his wife, Ghada, are wonderful people and treated us like family. On our last trip in April 2011, our cruise line cancelled all ports of call in Egypt due to the recent uprisings and then reinstated the port calls with just 2 days notice. Nile Blue was amazing in responding to the changes, providing us with outstanding tour guides on the revised dates. They were very skillful in adjusting our itinerary in Cairo to allow us time in the Egyptian Museum before they drove us off to the Pyramids in sufficient time to avoid a demonstration beginning to take place next to the museum. We recommend them highly and will certainly use them again. For more information, we suggest checking out their excellent new web site www.nileblueexcursions.com, which has detailed information on all that they offer.
