Very atmospheric old town and very clean, too. We saw it in winter with all the pretty Christmas lights. The local authorities had done a great job at it. Nice little cafes and great cats and Christmas trees! :)

This beach is located just below the place where we're staying. The water is beautiful, some swimming, a diver or two. Definitely worth visiting, just be careful walking on the stones as you go into or come out of the water.

I had never thought about the writer/singer of Nel Blu del pinto del Blu, aka, "Volare." However, our group took the tourist train through town singing Volare like children, and stopped here. Lots of people took photos mimicking the statue, which is on a promentory overlooking the sea.

We attended my sons wedding here, his new wife wanted a wedding in the sun and she certainly picked the perfect venue.
I have been to probably hundreds of weddings over the last 40 years but if you are looking for a venue to have a dream wedding, this surely has to be the place. I'll mention the wedding planner because to organise the wedding is challenging for anyone, to try and organise it from a different Country you would think is nearly impossible ,however nothing could be further from the truth. Patrizia Romago the wedding planner made everything perfect , not only does she arrange everything but she is there making sure everything works like clockwork on the day.
The wedding itself took place looking out to sea, the candles and the flower arrangements made the wedding area, coupled with the beautiful sea as a backdrop the most perfect romantic setting . The DJ played the brides chosen music as she walked behind the petal throwers .
The evening moved into the dining area which is indoors but as the sun went down ,the venue became sensational, candles and lanterns everywhere, beautiful flower arrangements, a fairytale venue.
The food was fantastic, the pre-dinner canapés were absolutely sensational .
The DJ had been briefed with regard to the music to play and got the dancefloor full instantly, The place is full of romance, just the perfect place to have a wedding and you can organise it from your home and be absolutely assured it will be perfect. The highlight for me out of so many fantastic memories of the wedding day was the guests releasing helium filled balloons with lights in and watching them disappear into space to the most moving music was just fantastic .
Not only will you have the most amazing wedding you will pay probably a third of the price you would pay in the UK.

We visited the Trulli Houses and yes they were for the tourist but still the views and the lovely whitewashed house and little shops to buy local goods was excellent. Afterwards there are plenty of cafe's and bars to have coffees and lunch.

Most pleasant early and late....gets very crowded with visitors. Mostly Italian but other nationalities of course. Although busy the immediate restaurants receive mixed reviews from their captive audience. We ALWAYS avoid and search out a gem further from the centre. As soon as you go over the bridge normal Puglia resumes, but you need to be subdued, able to blend into the background and not order cappuccinos after midday!!
