We choose the option for the guided ranger tour, which was an excellent option, had our own viewing platform further away from the hordes of tourists in general viewing - it is definitely worth paying a little extra if you can.. We saw large number of lovely little penguins come in out of the sea, some waddled right past our feet! very cute! The winds were absolutely freezing cold - make sure you wrap up!

It is indeed a beautiful beach. Unfortunately condition was too rough for a swim. The coast guards were around. Definitely picture perfect and stop by the kiosk for refreshing drinks.

Took an eco boat trip out to the rocks where the seals hang out on a nice mid spring day, the boat we went out on is a large fast moving boat, it is an open boat and is relatively comfortable, there are airline type seat belts, and you need to use going out to the rocks. The crew consist of the driver one crew member and a ranger. The ranger is very knowledgeable about the seals, you see all the males lounging on the rocks, looking over their harems, the babies at the time of the year we went out in October, were learning to swim and they were absolutely adorable, Once the boat has reached the rocks, it slows right down and you are allowed to get up and take photos etc. It was magical to watch the baby seals frolicking in the water, we didn’t get too close, but close enough to take photos, the seals tend to ignore the boat to a certain extent and by using the eco tour boat we help in the conservation of the seals, well worth a trip out. Just bear in mind that it can be rough, and a bit tricky for someone who has difficulties with steps and the gang plank you have to use to board the boat. You can also stay to watch the penguins coming back from a day fishing, the penguins come back to the shore at dusk, you can purchase tickets to watch the spectacle, but it does involve staying over night to see them. If you can stay over it will be well worth it.

This beautifully preserved house dates from the 1870's and was the summer house of Samuel Amess who built many notable Melbourne buildings including the Treasury, the 'Old Exchange', the Customs House. The house has many period features and gives a great insight to Victorian homes.

churchill island heritage farm. Our Australian working Farm. Churchill Island is a uniqueeco tourism attraction. The beautiful island offers a range of farming activities and natural attractions..
Very cool experience after all. Medium size farm, not very huge but got everything they claimed they have. We'd got the 3 parks pass online. Gardens and ancient cottages were very beautiful and nicely taken care of. Got the chance to milk a cow, first time seeing sheep shearing with my own eyes it was eye opening. That one peacock was really pretty with those colorful fur on it that my family couldn't get our eyes off it. Blue sky, blue sea, green grass and sheeps made a beautiful scenery at sunset. My whole family enjoyed this experience very much. I would definitely recommend this place if you plan to visit Phillip Island!

OK, this is not a zoo. No groomed pathways and cages. Wallabies & kangaroos and birds roam freely, so that means poo on the ground and animals scratching themselves and other natural acts. What this means for you is real hands on ability to touch and feed animals, from Eastern Grey Kangaroos and emus to small Pademelons and wallabies. What an amazing thing to do! They have a huge facility that most people don’t realize. From a building for venomous snakes, dingo, echidna, Tasmanian devil, wombat and other enclosures to multiple aviaries scattered throughout the park. I especially enjoy the huge back enclosure where easily a hundred kangaroos live, breed and carry joeys in their pouches. With your entrance fee you get a free bag of feed, buy more for .50, you will use it. I have been here several times over the past 4 years and while at zoos, you can only look, here you can interact and get a real FEEL for the animals and their natural environments and habits. Pet a wallaby and find the sweet spot on a Roo where they love to be scratched. I just wish they were open longer hours and I could work there!

Great Place to avoid the crowds. Red Rocks Beach is a pristine Bay Beach located 3.5km from Cowes. Safe North Facing, lovely Sand, calm water and only 5 minutes walk to the Aussie Golf Ranch where there is a Beer Garden, Bush Mini Golf & Short Course Options. Kids loved the Pitch & Putt Course & we loved sitting in the Beer Garden drinking a Coldy.
