I really enjoyed all facets of this tour apart from lunch. We had the choice of a small, bony, grilled mackerel or a tripe dish. I hate bones but I hate trip more so bones won. A very miserable salad (on slice of tomato per person) and some lettuce and potatoes accompanied it. The vineyards were great-two very different ones-one big and flashy, the other a family affair. The boat ride was very pleasant down the Duoro too. The air conditioner failed in the vehicle on the return journey making for a horrible ride for the three of us in the back with no window to open. Our driver and guide Sergi was 10 stars!

Most of the displays are in English and Portuguese. If you are interested in the history of the Douro region, then this is an excellent way to get a basic understanding of the geology, people, hydroelectric development, and industry of this beautiful part of Portugal. There are many little movies that show vintage footage, excellent written descriptions and visual displays. We highly recommend this museum. The cost for entrance is 6 Euros and 3 Euros for Seniors.

Great setting. And they recently celebrated their 300-year anniversary. One of the few originally Portuguese-owned port wineries. Their tawnies are quite good. We did not do a tour, which needs to be arranged in advance. The staff was initially a bit distant and then became really friendly. This is one of three wineries we visited and were very happy we came.

My boyfriend and I did this bike tour with Nuno through Douro Valley. I highly recommend to everyone to visit this region of Portugal and to go on this guided tour. This is not a review of the trip, wait until September for that.
I was able to book our tickets for a trip Sept 17th online last week and pay.
The booking page was easy to use , eTickets emailed and printed. All done in 1 hour including registering.
Great feature as we have to wait until 60 days before trip with regular trains in Spain, and I have yet to figure out the process for Portugal.

My wife and I booked Emanuel for a return trip from our accommodation in Mesao Frio to a winery near Pinhao for a tour, tasting and lunch. The drive each way was near two hours and the scenery was just spectacular. Emanuel stopped for us at a few viewpoints so we could take photos. We are so glad that we had a driver so that we could both enjoy the scenery and the wines without having to worry about the drive.
Emanuel's communication during the booking process via email was fantastic, he also emailed a day before the transfer to confirm the reservation. He was on time and his air conditioned car was very comfortable. We were really happy with the price we paid and wouldn't hesitate using his services again.
Our day in the Douro with Emanuel was the highlight of our 3 week trip in Portugal.

Lugarzinho bacana para tomar um bom vinho da região do douro e suas principais vinícolas acomapanhdo de tábuas de freios e até drinks feitos na hora. Não serve alimentos quentes.
