If you go to Litomyšl, you should not miss this great monument. A 50 mns long guided tour offers a nice summary of its long history though not too detailed. The equipment is mostly genuine and well taken care of. On the second floor, there is also a separate exhibition of pictures connected to the town which is worth visiting.

Pardubice Castle

Pardubice Castle is a showcase for the work of many talented individuals - architects, designers, sculptors, painters, engineers and military planners. This impressive late Gothic and early Renaissance residence, originally built for the powerful Pernstejn dynasty, is an oasis of calm in the very heart ov Pardubice´s city centre. Nestling amid its greenery, and still protected by its fortifications, this majestic palace still has the power to surprise visitors with its grandeur as soon as they step through the gates. The castle attracts tens of thousands of people per year, enjoying not only the building itself, but also the treasures of the East Bohemia Musem and East Bohemia Gallery. Pardubice Castle is one of the Czech Republice´s most valuable cultural heritage sites.

The castle is stunning and the ramparts are very impressive. It has the largest amount of peacocks I've seen in my life. Great inner courtyard with different rooms to visit. Will return when it's warmer. . Note it's quite a walk from the train station, but there are busses or taxis right outside the station.

This has to be among the best full fitness centers in the area of Pardubice offering 25m, 50m, and kids pools. So a pool for all abilities. As an advanced swimmer used to 2 mile open water swims, triathlons, and scuba diving I use the 50m mult lane pool. If you are into lap swimming then this is the place for you. They offer I belief eight lanes with at least two offered at any time for lap swimmers. Water is kept at comfortable temp, is clean, proper level of chemicals used. Large bleacher that runs the length of the pool area for on lookers. Nice kids pool even offers large outside slide. A favorite among the numerous schools in the area. The changing area is mixed sex with privacy booths and individual lockers of various sizes. Belongings secured in lockers using you wrist band device. The shower rooms leading into the pool is clean, multiple showers, with restroom. Place from top to bottom is very clean. Staff friendly/professional. Fitness center is well equipped for what it was designed for - basic strength training. If you are hard core gym rat this is not the fitness room for you. There are other weight room only gyms available for that in the area however. I am/was amateur bodybuilder having trained among the best at places like Golds Gym in Redondo Bch I know professional weight rooms when I see them. If you are such a person with no interest in a full service fitness center then is not the weight room for you. But if you seek just a general fitness center for a good workout of the basic muscle groups, stationery bikes, tread mills, and the like this place fits that bill to the tee. Offering free weights for use on the flat bench, full selection of dumbbells, machines for chest/incline, back/shoulder work, legs, and abs are available. High quality, professional, imported American name brand. Plenty of parking in gated area, nice on site snack/coffee shop. Can renew your membership via credit card using machines located around the center. Such machines can also read the amount of money left on your membership by reading your center issued wrist band devices. Just go up to the device choose language place your wrist device near scanner and the remaining amount on your membership is revealed.
