This is our second visit to this wonderful heritage site. We can clearly see that the ongoing maintenance is making a difference. Take your time and enjoy. As always with these special sites ... get there early. Caution ... only walk on the path to the toilets out back ... saw the biggest cobra ever in the long grass

Kalika Mata Temple

They have a rope way ( cable cars) if you don't want to climb some 5000+steps , although, even with rope way, there are still some 200 steps to climb so not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Rope way is situated near the top car park. Return rope way ticket costs 116 rupees ( as at Nov 2019 per person), but buy special 210 rupee ticket to skip some of the queues. this is not advertised widely ! We found this a real bonus as we went on Sunday and had to wait 2 hours in the queue but the special 210 rupee ticket allowed us to jump part of the queue ! If using rope way ,make your way straight to the queue at the top car park and you can buy ticket window just before you enter the last section where you embark the rope way - no need to buy tickets from booths available in the top car park. You can elect to leave your car at bottom and take a shared jeep to the top car park ( around 40 rupees per person return, approx 3KM journey which takes 15 mins) or take your car and drive up the steep hill and park at the top. Parking at the top can be difficult on busy days , how ever even on Sundays after some searching , we were able to find free car parking at the top. Roads are very good and have central dividers so should not be too much of a problem for competent drivers ( you must be good at doing hill starts) - make sure your car is not over loaded and your car is in good condition as the drive is very steep and you may have to stop /start several times in heavy traffic! If you are not good at driving or hill starts DO NOT TAKE your car to the top - pay for a shared jeep that takes you to the top car park. Phone signal is good up to the top car park but you don't get a signal near the temple at the top! You will get nice places to eat along the way but if you would like a sit down meal then wait until you disembark from the rope way on the return journey as this will lead you to a very reasonably priced sit down restaurant- fixed veg tali around 160 rupees , plus various snack options like vara pau; pau bhaji etc all made in clean and nice surroundings - ( nice clean toilets /washrooms there as well ) I think this is a new addition and is not advertised too widely . You will only have a couple of seconds in front of the main deity but well worth visiting as it is one of the most important ma Kali shrines near Vadodara ( approx 60kms away)

Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park

Reviewed By Bonvoyage1974 - Mumbai, India

The historical sights within the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park are scattered around over a large area. Private transportation is must to move around and see all the sites. A good amount of time is required to see all the sites. We reached around 2PM and could see only some of the sites which are located near the base of the Pavagad Hill, as the closing time is 5PM. Some sites are manned by Archaeological Survey of India guards and need an entrance ticket. One ticket gets you entry to all the sites. Some sites are situated on the way to the Kalikamata Temple situated on top of the Pavagad Hill. If you plan to see both the temple & the ruins, full day is easily required. The main site of Saher ki Masjid is situated opposite the Pavagad bus stand, here the guard was very helpful and he patiently explained about all the scattered sites with an informative & illustrated book published by the Archaeological Survey of India which is also available for sale at the ticket counter for Rs100. It is a good idea to buy this book as it helps to plan all the sights that one wants to see. We later saw Jami Masjid, Kevda Masjid & Cenotaph, Nagina Masjid & Cenotaph, Iteri Masjid, Ek Minar Ki Masjid Some of the sites are well preserved and are a sight to behold with well maintained gardens. If you are in Baroda make it a point to visit this place.

Sadanshah Pir Dargah

Reviewed By jayhY6833KE

The Muslim king Mahammad Begdo distroyed two shikhar built as per Hindu temple building tradition on top of Maha Kali temple and replaced shikhars to round tomb structure per Muslim tradition. Fraud was created by placing a stone of pir in round top of temple and linked a story how pir stopped Maha Kali going to patal. This pir is hurting the feeling of all Hindus as muslim pir is a fraud and dead body of pir is not buried on top of hindu temple. It is a shame to tv, news media, secular hypocratic Hindus and all ruling parties of Gujarat why the tomb shape structure and pir is not removed and rebuilt shikhars as per temple architecture. Secularism is only for Hindus in Indian and it a shame that after more than 70 years of Indian independence, feeling of Hindu pilgrims are ignored though Hindus are major population in India,
