A short journey from Tokyo but feels worlds apart. A beautiful place to visit. The trails to temples, shrines, Waterfalls and look-outs are great - lots of stunning views. Highly recommend a visit if you appreciate the outdoors and nature.

After reached Mitakesan Cable Car Station, one still need to walk for another 30min to reach Musashi-Mitake Shrine and on the way, one will pass a small village and prepare for some ascend as well. It was a beautiful shrine but normally people won't do the hike just to visit it, unless you are here for the valley hiking.
But we were traveling with my mom that has difficulties to do such a hectic hike for her, so we were just strolling along the pathway. However, out of our expectation, we were offered by a local to drive us up to the shrine by his mini-van and waited for us to send us back to the cable car station! Such a great deed and hospitality from the local Japanese that we'll never forget!

The Mitake Tozan cable car to reach the Mitake San Shrine and Mount Mitake. The Mitake Tozan cable car route has 2 terminal stations. The cable car operate every 30 minutes. The cable car station at the base of the mountain can be reached by taking a bus journey from the Mitake station on the JR Ome Line.
The cable car route provides scenic views along the route.

One of the must visit place when you visit Ome, Tokyo especially during spring where the azalea (つつじ) blooming season. Best time to visit is around late Apr to Early May. It may look like a normal Japanese temple front the front, but one shall not miss the backyard garden. The backyard garden was beautifully landscaped with a giant Kannon Statue overlooking the garden from the hill top, while the garden was filled up with colorful azalea bushes trimmed into sphere shape! It's definitely worth the visit for those flower lovers like me.

Exhibits trains are not so a lot.
However,visitors are able to ride on the real historical steam trains here.
also, you can see the beautiful garden forest on the way to there from One station.
Distance from station is almost 1.5km where is within first riding price of a taxi.
But, I recommend you that getting there by walk with easy.

The Ozawa Sake brewery is located at Sawai, Ome. It is very close to the JR Ome Sawai station on the JR Ome route to Okutama. The Brewery is one of the oldest in the area and offers visitors with a free of charge trip to the brewery and some fine Sake tasting. The visit to the interiors of the brewery is very popular and needs an advance booking if vising in groups.
Though the person in charge of the trip explains in Japanese, there are ample information in English and that is wonderful indeed. The Sake tasting is the end is a welcome addition. One of the best Sake, I have tasted in Japan (especially outside Tokyo) The brewery has an adjoining garden area with restaurants where one can enjoy Japanese cuisines with Sake.

古民家を利用した展示館で、赤塚不二夫の若い頃の写真や作品等コンパクトに展示されていました。有名な漫画家でしたが知らない作品が多く、コミック本もいろいろあったことを知りました。１階には売店もあります。

A museum specific to Japanese hair styles and ornaments through history situated on the banks of a white water river, this is a must visit.
The museum showcases various beautiful and ornately designed combs, hairpins and other hair decorations as well as small clutch bags. There are two floors of exhibits as well as a video of a live Edo type styling process which is a multi step wonder. There are breathtaking panoramic views of the river that can be enjoyed while sipping a coffee from the vending machine on the lower floor. Stepping outside you are in a calming natural setting full of greenery and the rush of the river passing by.
There is a foot bridge to cross to get closer to the water and it is a popular area for nature walks,photography and kayaking.
Stop at the gift shop on the way out and choose a modern day hair ornament as a souvenir or gift to complete the trip. Exhibits rotate so I look forward to my next visit.
