We aren't into trains, so we couldn't appreciate as deeply as some other folks, but if you can step back, after viewing all the carvings, and look at the exhibit as a whole, you quickly realize this is a spectacular display of genius. Several of the people on our tour said they visited more than once, or plan to come back again. Although this is not the case for us, this shows that human artistry can still outdo machines. As for the site itself, it's easy to find and there's plenty of parking. We found it a little expensive, but we certainly understand why. Using AAA helped, I think we got either 50 cents or $1 off admission.

Historic Schoenbrunn Village

Reviewed By Sightsee_Eat - Worthington, Ohio

These are not original buildings like at Zoar, but built on original foundations based on historical research in the 1920s and supplemented with recent archaeology. Schoenbrunn (meaning Beautiful Spring in German) was a Moravian mission town that was the first white settlement in Ohio in 1772. The Village was disbanded in 1977 because of the Revolutionary War. We had visited Zoar the day before and stopped for the night in New Philly at the nice, new, inexpensive Holiday Inn Express. We came to Schoenbrunn for just a little bit in the morning at opening at 9:30 before leaving for Coshocton and Roscoe Village. The trek around the village is in the grass, so take appropriate shoes if it's wet. There's a 10-minute video to begin and a little museum to visit in the Visitor's Center.

All around great stop. The historical society museum in the carraige house was just fabulous. So many items from Dover's past, including carriages, cars, and parts of the post office. The house itself was just stunning. Such intricate woodwork. The fact that the furnishings are original just makes it that much more enjoyable. The guide was wonderful, and knew the entire family history as it were her own. The roses on the grounds are just gorgeous. Plan on a few house to see all the exhibits, but go early if you want to poke around the upstairs of the carriage house- it is without AC and does get a bit warm.

Silver Moon Winery

Reviewed By Gwenevere M - Beach City, Ohio

Near ohios amish country, silver moon definitely knows the areas penchant for sweet wines, as that is all they offer. Now I'm not typically a sweet wine fan, but I can appreciate sweet wines done well. And they are not done well here. There's a large tasting room and gift shop that could seriously use an update, and a fair number of wines to sample, no food on offer, no other amenities. With their location in tourist heavy Amish country, they could easily up their game to at least do what they do well, but as they've been in business for years I suppose they can't be doing it all wrong. If you like it sweet and don't call yourself a conissoir of fine wine, I suppose it's worth a stop.
