Central Narvik location is convenient. Museum is new, has the most up-to-date technology, spacious, pleasant to visit. Museum assets are well curated and visiting while in Narvik seems very appropriate as Norway played a key role in WWII.

Narvikfjellet Gondola Lift

In addition to large areas of groomed trails and pists, you can also enjoy world class off-piste skiing, whereas Narvikfjellet has one of Scandinavia 's largest vertical drops and very good conditions for off-piste skiing. The resort is also suitable for families and beginners, who can take advantage of a separate children's lift and a customized childrens area. The Alpine skiing almost starts "downtown" ca. 200 meters above sea level, and the ski lifts take you up to 1006 m during 10-15 minutes. The spectacular view from the top of Narvikfjellet is unique, as the pists almost ends in the fjord. Narvikfjellet have a cable car that runs parallel to the 3 T- lifts. Both the cable car and the lifts takes you up to The Upper Mountain Lift Station 656 m. The chairlift takes you to the top of the ski area as the lift ends at 1006 m. From there you can walk another 300 meters to Tredjetoppen (third peek), the starting point for our world-class off-piste skiing!

Others have told me that this attraction rates excellent but I don't really know. I walked the reasonably steep streets from Narvik town to the gondola departure place arriving at 12 noon only to discover that it did not commence its run until 1.00pm.
I feel that I have missed a good attraction, so time your gondola ride better than I did.

Everything about Njalasouka Adventures was exceptional. First of all, they went out of their way to accommodate us. And every element of the trip was so great - the sled ride, the dog, the fire and the lavvo, the hosts (including their adorable parents!), and of course THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. We got an amazing show, up away from the lights of Narvik. I will never forget this adventure. It was perfect. FREEZING COLD but perfect.

This was such an amazing evening made special by Kasia our local guide & her colleagues. We had the whole mountain & lodge to our group of travellers. The guides were very knowledgeable about the area & especially the Northern lights. We had a perfect evening, clear skies, and were so very lucky to see the beauty of the Northern Lights. We were treated to an amazing light show and Kasia took some great photos for us all. We were then given complimentary hot/cold drinks and home made waffles. This is a must for those travelling to Narvik. Highly recommended.

Museum Nord - Narvik

Museum Nord - Narvik tells the stories of Ofoten line Railway construction and operation, of mining concern LKAB's iron ore transport over the harbour of Narvik, and the town of Narvik's 100 years long history. Apart from watching films, pictures and models, you can also experience a "train ride" in an authentic car used on Ofoten line. Museum has also Exhibitions devoted to rock carvings, wreck diving in Narvik harbour, the coming Hålogaland bridge and central tunnel in Narvik, Sami people in Ofoten and much more. We are located in former NSB's (Norwegian Railways) administration building, monumental house built in 1902, short walk from Narvik's central square. There is a fine view over Narvik harbour and LKAB's facilities from museum's park. We also have a small museumshop and a simple café. Free parking.

This museum surprised me in a good way! It´s small but depicts the whole story from Narvik (1900 up to nowadays), besides a small room with some rock carvings with 8000 years. It´s a good place to find out about Narvik, with a great focus on LKAB, Narvik´s most known company.
