Top 10 Things to do in Murray Hill, New York (NY)

February 4, 2022 Lean Nau

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Today I walked into Joanna Vargas for the first time, as I am from Australia and have heard incredible things about this renowned salon and WOW! I was blown away. The facilities are beautiful and I was greeted nicely by the front desk staff. I went in for the famous Triple crown facial with master esthetician Anastasia and it was amazing. Anastasia was so knowledgeable and passionate and made sure I knew the benefits of everything she was doing whilst also letting me relax and take a little nap. I am OBSESSED with the microcurrent part of the facial and saw results right away. I left the facial feeling relaxed, refreshed and my skin felt hydrated and plump. Couldn’t recommend this facial and the Joanna Vargas salon anymore! 5/5 service and results. I already booked into my follow up treatment to do the same again in 6 weeks as I was told several treatments will only help improve results and keep my skin looking youthful and tight! Can’t wait to be back! Thanks to the incredible Anastasia and the team at JV!! - Chloe

Kalustyan's

Reviewed By Ginacucina - Mahopac, United States

I have a hard time finding certain spices where I live, so when I come to NYC Kalustyan's is my new go-to. I went there for the first time this week, looking for kala namak (black Himalayan salt that is more of a spice than a salt) and they had it! I also managed to pick up enough items to fill 2 shopping bags. This is also the only place I've found where I can buy fresh curry leaves, essential in southern Indian cooking. It is a labyrinth of spices, beans, grains, and teas. I fell so hard for this amazing grocery that I also bought an Indian cookbook. Love this place.

The Morgan Library & Museum

Just a short walk from Grand Central and Penn Station, the Morgan is a major exhibition venue for fine art, literature, and music, one of New York's great historic sites, and a wonderful place to dine, shop, and attend a concert or film.

Reviewed By XSki007 - New Jersey, United States

We are all very fortunate that J.P. Morgan created such an extensive art and rare book collection is such a fabulous home - and it has been preserved for all of us to enjoy it. The buildings are truly a work of art onto themselves. I recommend taking the free head set as you walk through the premises, wherein you will learn a great deal about the man and all of this art work.
