We visited Hidden River Cave and had planned the 5-hour hiking trip in the cave. It was pure adrenaline and the hell uva trip with our guide Keith. Already in gthebeginning Keith told us he wa going to try to reach a part of the cave system even he hadn't seen before ... wow, what an adventure.
Be prepared to really crawl, climb, slide and crouch for 5 hour. You will get wet, muddy and exhausted but it's worthwhile an amazing experience. Keith knows everything about the cave an good company. The caves are amazing but be sure to briing all the equiment suggested. Helmets and headlamps will be provided, but you should bring ankle-high outdoor shoes with good grip and soome gloves.
Have fun.

Cub Run Cave

Cub Run Cave, located in scenic Hart County Kentucky, was first discovered in 1950. It was then briefly shown to the public before being closed for the next 55 years. The cave reopened to the public in July of 2006.

This cave was recommended by a person at Mammoth Cave as one that was truly beautiful. It's a ways out in the rural area of Hart County and a small operation. When I arrived there was no one there because the person who works the office is also the tour guide. Be patient. Once he came back from the other tour you actually have to follow him a half mile to the cave site in your car. My guide was very knowledgeable and cares about the cave and it's history. This is a relative new cave that was discovered in 1950 or 1951. It was closed down shortly after(property line issues) then reopened in 2006 I believe. This means that people weren't there to destroy the natural beauty of this unique underground wonder. There are some truly unusual formations here. The tour takes an hour to an hour and a quarter to view- plenty of time to see Mammoth Cave or one of the other nearly caves. Mammoth Cave is the largest but Cub Run Cave is more picturesque.

We came to Mammoth Cave Adventures close to closing time with no reservations. The crew were very accommodating and so very friendly. The crew were able to offer us a ziplining tour or horseback riding. We chose horseback riding. It was just our family of 4 and the guide. We have some experience so we got to climb rocks and trot and even run through some ponds. This was the highlight of my daughters trip as she loves horseback riding so much. The staff was amazing. Josh was our guide. Thanks Josh for an amazing trip. We will be back to check out the other activities.

While planning our Mammoth Cave National Park visit, many online reviews noted the uniqueness of KY Down Under and it was very true. The cave tour is short but very nice. It is a beautiful cave with lots of history. We loved feeding the lorikeets, kangaroos, emu and goats. We did use a Groupon so be sure to check if a discount is available. Definitely a favorite of our time in the Mammoth Cave area.

The smaller, less expensive, places always hold the biggest and best surprises and real experiences!!! This place is a 'gem' in the middle of all the attractions. The little dude that was there when I went was a plethora of information and knowledge. Not to mention adorable. He was the same age as my youngest son and so cool! He has long hair and glasses, if anyone could tell me his name I would be so grateful! I loved this place and will be back there again one day! Unfortunately I could not do the cave tour, but there is my reason for returning. The place is not overwhelming with too much stuff and over-rated prices. It was a great find for a rock hound. Love and light and many blessings to the folks that own and manage it!!! Namaste~ Ps. the questions on here are a little vague. Parking and entrance to the rock shop is free but the tour for the cave is only $8...Mammoth Cave is $20 and up to $70, most of the stuff in the gift shops are made in China. Support local and family owned business. These folks are awesome!

As Civil War Battlefields go, this one doesn't have much to see except the house and the famous railroad bridge that was the subject of said battle. We did get to tour the house which was interesting and the walk through the battlefield area is a nice easy walk and gives you a better perspective of the battle. Worth a stop to stretch your legs if you are in the area.

This cave tour was included with our Groupon for Kentucky Down Under Zoo. It was a very nice tour, with a very knowledgeable (and patient!) guide. There are some steep steps and narrow spaces, so plan accordingly if taking this tour. Pictures are allowed, but no flash photography. Very interesting formations in the cave. Had our 9-year old granddaughter with us, and she also enjoyed it (a plus!).

Have attended several of these performances. Cast is often small, but what they deliver to the audience is fantastic!! Went and saw Lomabardi last night, I am not a football fan, but enjoyed this flavorful production. If you have the chance, give this small hometown theatre, that has seasoned actors from New York, and other great name Broadway cities, a couple of hours from your vacation to sit back and enjoy. Check out their website for more upcoming shows. www.kentucky rep.org.
