Top 10 Things to do in Mount Vernon Square, District of Columbia (DC)

May 15, 2022 Hana Mouser

Washington DC is a hub for American politics and history. Attracting as many school field trips as it does travelers the district offers a peek into the country’s democratic origin. There are plenty of free museums to take advantage of but the real draw here is the memorials and monuments dedicated to great American leaders. Spend some contemplative time at the Reflecting Pool within the National Mall, among the most patriotic places in the country.

The atmosphere, the energy, the intention.... it was a magical experience. Although I arrived with a bit of fear of what sensory deprivation is like, it didn’t last long. I was fortunate enough to have been greeted and escorted through to my private room by the founder, Pedramin. She had a peaceful and safe energy about her. With a safe, clean, modern, cozy space.... the rest was up to me! I closed the lid of my SD tank all the way and was greeted by the healing sounds of dolphins (you get to choose!) and with faint lights inside. After some time the lights and sounds go off. Hang with the darkness! You can do it! Once the fear leaves you can really go deep. I will absolutely go back again and again. I can’t say enough about this experience.

Electric Tourz - Not Your Average Tour

If you want to get a feel for the "real" D.C., look no further. This is not your average tour! We use ergonomically designed bikes equipped with all terrain, fat-tires, cutting-edge electric pedal assist technology, and full-throttle capacity. This allows us to go off the beaten path and give riders more influence in each tour. We also provide convenient meet-up locations just steps away from the Marriott Marquis in downtown D.C. and offer complimentary garage parking. Our tours offer a more dynamic and comprehensive experience of the sites around D.C. We make brief stops along the way, and spend about 15 minutes at the Lincoln Memorial. However, our priority is for riders to enjoy the bikes, the beautiful views and fresh air that D.C. has to offer!

Columbia Room

This experience was wonderful. The cocktails are unique and delicious. The decor in the Library gives Columbia Room a speakeasy vibe, even though it is one of the most popular cocktail bars in D.C. Someone can definitely find privacy in the Library depending on which seat they choose. I sat in the high back chair right in front of the mixologist. Watching the process of cocktail making is an experience in itself. The lineup of bitters will make your head spin and the old fashioned choices might be challenging, but go out on a limb and try a cocktail with a spirit you may not have planned on drinking. It will be worth the risk. Walter was a wonderfully professional server and took the time to answer any questions I had without getting bogged down in conversation. The staff definitely wants you to enjoy your experience with whoever you are with. An intimate setting that is great for a date or for a small group of friends.
