Beautiful racetrack in a gorgeous setting. Great racing at a well maintained facility. Fun camping as well. Walk the track after the racing is done. No hook ups for camping but bathroom and showers available. Walk through the pits and get up close to the cars and drivers. Been to sports car and antique car races here and enjoyed both. Well staffed.

great family ride, especially for NYC recreational family bikes. The path is smooth, last stop on the Harlem Valley Metro North Train. About 45 or so to Millerton. Once there, there are 3 or 4 antique shops and two restaurants that are very good.

Jumpfest is also the centerpiece of the Jumpfest Winter Festival, an area-wide celebration leading up to an including Jumpfest weekend.

In the remote northwest corner one would not expect to find a world class nordic ski jump facility but this little town thinks big! The annual SWSA (Salisbury Winter Sports Association) annual Jumpfest is a fabulous winter sporting event. It is supported throughout the year with other notable happenings, such as the October "Brew-ski" offering 35 different breweries tastings and chili cook off, at the base of the jumps. A beautiful setting and a terrific organization.

Rudd Pond Area

Reviewed By Joel W - Rhinebeck, New York, United States

While a smaller than usual State park, Rudd Pond is a lovely spot in upstate New York. A beautiful pond with a small sandy beach is fun in the summer. Most of the year, the park is a nice place for a picnic with many (somewhat deteriorating) picnic tables overlooking the pond. Stop here for a picnic or a quiet and peaceful moment communing with nature.

Harney and Sons Tea Tasting Room

International tea tasting room where teas are imported and blended.

Reviewed By Deborah M - Sharon, Connecticut

So sad the Harney's left CT and moved over the line to busy Millerton, but I doubt they are. They have a lovely shop, which is pricey, but pretty and the teas are fantastic. They serve a fantastic lunch in a warm cozy spot that great on these cold winter days. In the summer they have an outdoor dining area.
which is always full on Sat. as THE best farmer's market in the area is across the way!

The MovieHouse

Reviewed By Nefelokokigia - New York City, New York

We are so lucky to have The Movie House in sleepy Millerton. The program offers all things to all people; blockbusters, Indies, RomComs; they are always all here. The theaters are comfortable (especially the Screening Room), and I am told that the food is excellent (though I never eat while watching movies, and I wish others wouldn't). The staff is friendly, and it's only $11!

Lions Head

My friend and I decided to hike to Bear mountain summit via Lion's head. The hike will get the heart pumping at the beginning but the view from Lion's Head summit makes it worthwhile. From there we took AT (Appalachian trail) to Bear mountain summit. Most of the hike is pretty easy if you are in good shape. The hike seems to be quite popular among hikers with dogs. The hike was about 8.48 miles and we managed to finish it in 5 hrs. It can easily be done in 4 hrs by keeping a good pace.
