If you have to choose one thing to do while in Santorini, we would highly recommend Panos as your skipper aboard the Alex. He and Dimitri were hospitable, informative, and gracious. We Santorini from vantage points we never would have experienced otherwise and got a terrific education/history/geology lesson of this remarkably beautifully place. To boot, he prepared and served us tasty, local cuisine as we prepared to watch the sunset. We had a memorable week in Santorini but this was surely our highlight.

Venetsanos Winery is located right above the port of Athinios, overlooking the Caldera. Designed by George Venetsanos, it was opened as the first industrial winery on the island in 1949. This unique winery (now a museum) is literally carved into and hanging onto the cliffs! The winery produces several white and red wines, includes the sweet Vinsanto dessert wine. We enjoyed tasting them all! When paired with food and sipped on the Terrace with the Caldera and all of Santorini at your feet – well, friends, it doesn’t get any better than this! Our Santorini Unique Experience Tour included a stop here. Make sure you allow enough time, because you won’t want to leave. I’d still be there with a wine glass in my hand if they hadn’t dragged me away.

We enjoyed our visit here so much! Came with four other friends, drank 6 delicious bottles of wine (tried all the whites on the menu -- each one unique and good) and stayed for 3 hours. Special highlight: it was vinsanto stamping season. We took of our shoes and they let us stomp on grapes!! There was also an amazing Greek rustic song duo, singing and playing on a bag pipe and drum. This is what vacation memories are made out of. We felt like we were in the middle of an Anthony bourdain clip!
Pro tip - the natural ferment white was delicious.

Highly recommended private tour outfit !
We had Simon take us on a 3 hour tour of southern Santorini. He was very accommodating and changed a few things around to suit. He was very knowledgable and offered interesting insights into history of the island. He was happy to answer any questions The van we had was very comfortable and on a hot day managed to stop twice for cold water and ice cream for the kids.
We arranged a pickup time after we finished dinner and he met us right on time to take us back to our hotel.
Whilst some of this you could do yourself by hiring car / quad bike , for our family of 4 this was the most expedient , comfortable and economical way to get some first hand knowledge of he island. It may not fit in everyone's budget , but if you had 4-6 people in your group , you will find it very good value for money.
Thanks Simon and Black Pearl !

My wife and I very liked this place. If you're fan of modern or contemporary styles, 1260 Ceramic Studio is the best place to be! Designs are artistic, special and unique, and you don't see similar things in any other places. We love all stuff we bought for ourselves or as souvenirs.
More importantly the owners, Marina and Giannis, are very nice, friendly and honest, they were of the best people we met at Santorini.

Visited their website. Read about a nice sounding tour under the title:
"VOLCANO & Caldera GUIDED TOUR, HOT SPRING, THIRASSIA, OIA" indicating departure times and a brief itinerary.
Sent an inquiry and received the following message back:
"We don’t organize volcano tours"
and a phone number.
A little blunt and not indicative of their own website, so not sure what to think except that we are here for 7 more days and whatever tours we do have planned will be in a different direction.
