I could not speak more highly of this club. They came recommended by the owner of another dive center. Ludo and Patricia are not only extremely professional, but also warm and friendly. They only dive with small groups (in my case, I was spoiled diving alone with Ludo and Marina, who also works there as an instructor). The prices are reasonable and the rental equipment in excellent state. And last but not least we had a good laugh, thank you to the team!

We love this little gift/coffee/ice cream shop. We visited 12 months ago with the family and the adults enjoyed coffees whilst the teenagers enjoyed the delicious ice cream. We even took home a few homewares and gifts which the shop is filled with. All so beautiful making your selection so hard.
This year we have returned again and staying a few kms away but make our morning walk to Mendira House for a coffee. I'm actually sitting here now, enjoying a coffee while a write this review.
When in Candidasa or passing through, pop in for a look.
Well worth it!

Paradise Diving Bali

German Dive Center offers daily Scuba Diving and PADI Dive Courses with german speaking Divemaster and german speaking Instructors.

Reviewed By Dario N - Bern, Switzerland

We were a group of 4 divers (1 Advanced, 2 Rescue, 1 Divemaster) and we booked the 14 day "Dive Safari" with Paradise Diving.. and what should I say? Everything was excellent - people, organization and the dives! 2 of us only speak English, this wasn't a problem - so it's not a "German only" dive shop! ;-)
The staff consist of Daniel which is the German speaking manager in Padang Bai and locals which guide the customers on the dives, organize the logistics or drive people around ;-) All are very helpful, nice, open and flexible. Daniel is a good guy & organizer, he has the overview of all the stuff happening.
If you're a bigger group and interested and seeing some different dive sites around Bali, the dive safari is a great way. It's basically diving in Padang Bai with some additional dives in Tulamben (Liberty wreck) and in Menjangan (macro orientated walls). But you can bring in your own wishes and desires, they will try everything to offer a great experience for you! Everything is nicely organized: accommodation, pickups, equipment - it will be all taken care of.
Regarding the diving itself: We found the guiding on the dive sites professional and done with passion. I was surprised about the nice dive sites around Padang Bai itself - nice stuff to see. We also had a day around Nusa Penida (island south of Padang Bai), we had nice encounters with some Mantas! ;-) All around a nice experience.. mostly we had small local boats only for our group of 4 people with 1 guide, so the group ratio and personal care was excellent! ;-)
We were always allowed to bring in our own ideas or to stay somewhere little bit longer, we were never rushed to finish as soon as possible or anything - we really felt it was a personal experience in any way possible. This was really nice for me especially, as I know how customers feel in really big dive shops, so here you still have a nice family atmosphere with a personal touch to it. Nice!!
So I wanna say thanks again to the staff at Paradise Diving in Padang Bai! To have someone taking care of all the organizing after 7 months of travelling around Asia (were we have to organize everything ourselves normally) was just nice! ;-) Keep it up and hopefully see you guys again!

We stayed at Bloo Lagoon, 3 Day Romantic Package which included Honeymooners Package at Spiral Spa.
For me a neck and shoulder massage is enough however after 2 hours of bliss overlooking ocean a 30 minute massage may never be enough again.
Lovely setting in small hut overlooking water. Beautiful massage not too hard or too soft. Chocolate body wrap smelled sooooo good. Warm coconut head massage left hair so soft.
Enjoyed it that much booked straight in for signature facial while husband relaxed in villa smelling devine though maybe not manly (lol).
Felt comfortable with staff and spoiled, really was lovely.

We had friends who recommended Ketut's Hideaway or we may never have discovered it.
We spent a lovely day snorkelling, eating a wonderful traditional lunch with all the ingredients explained, learning about local offering traditions, and even taking a turn of making the intricate palm basket work that is used for offerings.
I am sure we could have had these experiences elsewhere, but put all together in a family context, with warm and friendly guidance, it made for a really special day.
This is a great locally run family business, not some large production with non- Indonesians behind it. And for this reason it is highly recommended anyone with a day to allocate will have a great experience and really benefit the local economy.

Tenganan Aga Village

Tenganan Aga Villages is a village in the regency of Karangasem in Bali, Indonesia. Before the 1970's was known by anthropologists to be one of the most secluded societies of the archipelago. Rapid changes have occurred in the village since the 70's, such as the development of local communications by the central government, the opening up to tourism, the breaking of the endogamic rules. Tourists are attracted to Tenganan by its unique Bali Aga culture that still holds to the original traditions, ceremonies and rules of ancient Balinese, and its unique village layout and architecture. It is known for its Gamelan selunding music and geringsing double ikat textiles

There are two aga villages in Tenganan,i visited one of them few years ago,and last year July visited another one, quite a memorable experience, cuz i witnessed a very special ceremony there—Pandan war festival, that time the villaga i visited is Tenganan dauh Tukud.another village called Tenganan Peringsingan.they held this festival in June,I missed it(heard that the ceremony there bigger than dauh tukad),it is a ritual to honor gods and the ancestors.participants use pandan leaves as their weapon, and fight with each other, mostly they scratch each other by pandan leaves(with small sharp thorns),so you will see wound on the back of the participants...after this, there will be a religious ceremony. Both villages famous for double ikat(textiles),the price is high, but quality is good.plan to visit Tenganan Peringsingan again to attend the pandan war festival there.

Blue Lagoon Beach

Reviewed By Busbingtons - Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Blue lagoon was a beautiful white beach in Bali, much quieter than Semyinak Beaches or kuta! It felt very secluded, there were two restaurants/bars on the beach which both offered snorkelling gear at a reasonable price. We hired a driver from Ubud to take us here and then onto Legian for a very reasonable price.
We saw an octopus while snorkelling and that was cool.
