The ruins here are okay, not great, but certainly worth the walk up the path several hundred feet. The best part are the views you have from up here over the valley of Malinalco and the Mountains beyond. If you are a ruins junkie, as I am, and have been all over Mexico and the world, don't expect the most amazing ruins you've ever seen, though.

You start with temporary Exhibitions, at the moment very beautiful pottery work. Then you have the main museum, beautiful and arranged with lots of innovative ideas. Then before leaving, there is the reconstitution of the inside of the pyramid you can visit after 400 stairs in Malinalco. The inside of the real pyramid is now forbidden so it important to be able to see it anyway at the museum.

Sanctuary of Chalma

Reviewed By Lucyjw101 - Mexico City, Mexico

We went here on a Sunday, which is probably the busiest day to go. I have great admiration for the genuine pilgrims who travel great distances to be here. We parked pretty close and walked down through the market streets selling tacky religious souvenirs and sweets. There were huge numbers of people, families and large groups carrying crosses and other religious icons and the area in front of the church and the church itself were very crowded. You can enter via a side entrance and go up to see behind the altar and see the Christ figure.
Outside the main church area is a river where many of the pilgrims rest and bathe. Again it's pretty crowded.
This was an interesting experience but if you're not there with religious intent it's probably not going to wow you.
