Praia de Sao Miguel dos Milagres

Reviewed By Roberta T - Sao Paulo, SP

I choose to visit São Miguel
Dos Milagres because I was looking for a beautiful and tranquil beach in Brazil. If you are the kind of person who likes to be in an almost desert place, São Miguel can offer you that! Additionally, the place has simple but very cosy and good service b&bs. I visited the place in Jun15, which is not the best season because the weather can be cloudy and rainy, but I was lucky to have beautiful sunny days with great views. I recommend and would return!

Frances Beach

Reviewed By Andy N - Haslemere, United Kingdom

Frances beach is beautiful. If you're not sure whether to go, go.
We visited twice, once during the week and again at the weekend. While the weekend was busier, it wasn't crowded.
The surf here is good and is popular with the locals. Early morning waves are best for beginners, while later on in the day they increase in size.
The sand is golden and clean. There is no seaweed and no signs of fishing. The smell which affects other Beaches in Maceio is not present here.
The beach is large so plenty of room. Parking is available but is chargeable.

Frances Beach

Reviewed By BuyReallyLow - Holmen, Wisconsin

We head back towards Maceio to our next beach – Praia do Frances. This is a surfer’s paradise. Since it is closer to Maceio, it is more heavily used by the people of Maceio for day trips. There is a little beach town that you roll thru to get to the beach with open air restaurants. The action on this beach is concentrated on one end where another off-shore reef creates a protected zone with less wave action – making it perfect for families and children to swim.
On the reef, locals walk with nets looking to catch dinner for the evening – some use harpoon guns to capture their prey. The reef runs out on the South end, and that is where the surfers take over. Bodyboards and longboards are available for rent – neither of which were taken advantage of by this old man! 

Praia de Ipioca

Plain beach. Calm waves, but the tide rise quickly. Do not go too far toward the see. It may have some seaweed (wrack? dunno if this word is correct) on the coast, some people don't like it. But it's perfectly secure for bathing.

Piscinas Naturais de Pajucara

Reviewed By TrasgoCochabamba - Cochabamba

Little sail boats leave regularly from Pajucara beach and take you about a mile out to a sand back at low tide. Several other sail boats station there with drinks and food. The trip goes for about 30 Reales and last up to 2 hrs depending on who you are with and your "capitan".
It is best to go at the lowest tide so check out tide times online before going.
The best part for us was getting there and being able to see lots of fancy colored fish at very low depth... Negotiate in advance with the operators so that they can rent you a mask and snorkel... if you stay away from the crowd you will have incredible views.
Very worth it for the cost and time. No advance Reservations needed... simply go and negotiate onsite.

Pratagi Beach

Reviewed By cjgmoreno - Fortaleza, CE

Perfect beach to rest, very quiet, almost a private beach! It is located close to Maceio, which gives you the chance to visit both the North and the South coasts of the state. There is only one problem: there is just the beach! So please choose a nice hotel where you can have a good breakfast and dinner. There is only one restaurant which may be worth trying, Casa de Praia, about 1km from the Pratagy Beach Resort. We stayed in the Pousada Casa Caiada. Very nice! Super cozy! Good food and gentle staff.
