We did not think it would be worth a visit but we were only a couple of miles away so detoured. Well worth the trip and just next to it is a very useful village store.

wonderful metal scroll work on gates, stairs and even litter bins and fantastic mosaic flooring as well as the entry guarding lizards. this is a fantasy garden with little pathways winding around and over lava rocks and pools. the planting is magnificent with endemics and non-endemics mixed together and something wonderful in flower every day of the year. It is a totally unexpected find along a rather uninviting road off the main dual carriageway down into the town centre. The designer did another smaller garden near La Mancha

I first went to the Museo Insular in Santa Cruz where I saw that you could get a double ticket to include the Archaeology Museum in Los Llanos. Set in a modern building, the museum is a short walk from the church. Although the exhibits looked quite sparse, I spent hours in there because there was so much information that presented La Palma history in context with other happenings in the world with a concise timeline. The recreations of the locals and dwellings were very well done and the artifacts such as the potteries fascinated me and I was amazed to see the potter who I visited in the south of the island was featured in one of the videos! There is a lot of information to take in but it helped to cement what I'd learnt on the Natour trips that I went on previously.

We came across this place by visiting the sunday market at Los Llanos.It is tucked away in a far corner. it is open daily 10-2. except on Thursdays.
It is an art studio for glassware. various things are made to buy ,vases ,ornaments , lampshades,glasses etc.
They do demonstrations of glass blowing and the making of objects to buy.
The studio was established in 2000 . We brought a few presents back and I will certainly visit again when we holiday again in La palma.

We loved this place. Very traditional buildings around the Plaza area.Lovely church and the bells ring on the hour. The atmosphere was so nice, just locals chattering away in the cafes, the older people sat around watching the world go by. Some lovely querky shops and a few modern ones. A lovely Canarian place to visit.

Small typical Spanish bar with tapas, one of the few that only have a Spanish menu and no German or English translations!! The tapas are ok nothing special the prices very reasonable the atmosphere authentic Spanish. One of the few left in Los Llanos

Magnifico tubo volcanico con poco desgaste turistico. Magnificos guias que en todo momento estan pendientes ... explican bien y el recorrido es mas o menos comodo... la zona final es muy baja por loq ue es posible que cause claustrofobia, pero no hay que hacerla obligatoriamente... Muy recomendable

Right next to the Maritime Museum is this great place to stop for a coffee and what coffee! Try it with condensed milk, or with cream or with liquor. The young waiter was also so cheery & efficient & the prices were good too!
