We waited until arriving at Levi before booking any tours. We were on a ski trip and wanted to pick a day with good weather. We walked down to the tourist office and looked through the extensive collection of activities. My partner wanted to do a husky ride and I fancied a reindeer ride. We ended up finding one through the tourist office that included both. Just short rides but gave us a taste which was great. Lady was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The tour left from the tourist office and we were able to pop in and use their facilities first (toilet) which was helpful.

Samiland

Reviewed By hildpost - Thunder Bay, Canada

I found this to be an interesting exhibit, in two parts. We were lucky to have a Sami man, Ante Aikio, do the presentation for us. Indoors first, in the hotel Panorama on the hill in Levi, there were photos, artifacts, and information panels. As a Canadian, the one about the residential schools really hit home. The second part was outdoors beside the hotel. There were examples of Sami buildings, with good descriptive panels. The boardwalk between them all was easy to navigate. I also enjoyed the opportunity to have a hot cup of tea and a chat with our presenter when we were done! I would recommend this exhibit for anyone curious about indigenous peoples.
