This tour was absolutely beautiful. I've been to several other horseback riding tours in the States, but this was something special. The path that we took was stunning through a little fields, a bunch of woods paths, and several streams/creeks. The owners take great care of the horses and their riders to make sure everyone is happy. After the ride, they even had time to sit down with us to share some drinks and fresh fruit and talk for a while. Such an amazing, peaceful farm. If we get back, I want to go with them on the intermediate ride, but my girlfriend thought the beginner ride was challenging enough so I guess it's a great ride for all different types of levels.

This place is great! It’s secluded but can easily find on Waze. Such knowledgeable farmers; I’m so happy they allowed us to see into their ways of farming. Walking around the farm and seeing the biodiversity was so much fun! Highly recommend this tour! Also we signed up for the lunch and I’m so glad we did; it was mucho delicioso!! :)

This was part of a combo tour with Doka and Grecia. It was very interesting to seeing how the oxcarts are made using the original methods. The tour was concise and interesting.
There is of course the obligatory gift shop. It is huge. Oddly, for an oxcart factory, there were very few tabletop oxcarts available for sale or any oxcarts for sale for that matter. Lots of other tat though.
I used the ladies room while I was there. I don't know what it is with Costa Rica and rest rooms. Every one I used seemed to think lighting was an option. You literally used the rest room with only the light available from the outside!

Zoo Ave

While educating the public about local wildlife, this zoo also breeds endangered animals for eventual release to the wild.

Reviewed By mckeaniac - McKean, PA

Our visit to Zoo Ave began with an introductory film explaining the Mission of Central America's largest wildlife rescue center. The goals of the center are to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate animals into their natural environment, as well as to breed endangered animals for release into the wild. The center receives about 2000 animals a year. About 2% of the animals remain in the zoo as permanent residents, the most famous of which is Grecia, a female toucan who was fitted with a prosthetic beak after an animal cruelty incident.
The park has beautiful botanical Gardens with more than 125 species of birds, reptiles, and mammals in natural enclosures. The park is completely accessible, has a small gift shop, and a restaurant on-site. As part of our tour, we enjoyed a delicious Costa Rican lunch buffet. This unique zoo park is well worth the visit!

Learn about ancient cultures and how they invented the ritual drink made of cacao.... and drink it. Our garden has no only cacao but also Vanilla, Cinammonand many exotic plants. Taste Costa Rica´s prime chocolate from local artisan makers. DELICIOUS.

This is a wonderful tour that not only teaches all the intricacies of growing and processing chocolate, but gives a wonderful historical overview of how the chocolate that we know and love today came into being. Our tour guide Jessica was adorable and knowledgeable and her chocolate making companion (whose name I forgot - lo siento!) was equally interesting. We got to taste various historical concoctions, learned why "good" chocolate is so much better than "commercial" chocolate ... and made our own chocolate candy. Highly recommended!

We (5 adults) used Walter’s Taxi and Tour service for airport transfers and 3 days of sightseeing during our 8 day Costa Rica vacation. We were very happy we did!! Walter was professional and friendly, had a very clean and comfortable van with air conditioning, and had a cooler with ice cold bottled water for us to drink. He speaks fluent English and was happy to help us decide what tours we should do. He brought us to Arenal, Monte Verde and Jacó. At the end of those days he was even happy to bring us to the grocery store on the way back to the the home we were renting.
We will definitely be using Walter’s Taxi and Tour service on our next vacation to Costa Rica!
