Knokke-Heist (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌknɔkəˈɦɛi̯st]) is a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Heist-aan-Zee, Knokke, Duinbergen, Ramskapelle and Westkapelle. On January 1, 2006 Knokke-Heist had a total population of 34,063. The total area is 56.44 km² which gives a population density of 603 inhabitants per km². Knokke-Heist is located along the North Sea in a polder area on the Belgian border with the Netherlands. It is Belgium’s best-known and most affluent seaside resort.

What a great find. We were driving nearby and saw a beautiful windmill and decided to get a closer look. Right across the street was the museum and it looked interesting. You'd never know driving through Knokke-Heist today that the area was once (and not too long ago) an area where city children, especially orphans and the underprivileged were taken during the summer to enjoy fresh air and get physical exercise. You'll learn all about it at this little jewel of a museum, as well as the agricultural, industrial (mostly fishing) and natural history of the area in two buildings of superb exhibits. It's extremely child-friendly (with games, puzzles and items to play with), but adults will find it just as interesting and enjoyable.

Beverly Screens is a complete gem of a movie theatre. If you are the type of person that enjoys a quiet and relaxed moving going experience then this is the place for you.
The facilities are always clean, the chairs are comfortable and the choices of snacks and drinks are great. If you are expecting popcorn, nachos, drink Fountains and a pick'n'mix like chain movie theatres often have then prepare for disappointment. You will not find any of that here keeping the movie theatre clean and movie watching extremely pleasant. The surround sound and visual quality are both fantastic. A couple of years back they renovated the theatre with new seats and upholstery and 3D movie capabilities. And on busy days or movie premieres the staff comes into the different theatres with ice cream and snacks to buy. Add all those great features to the fact that it is still a family run business with an extremely friendly and professional staff and I can guarantee that you will not find a better movie theatre in Belgium.
Ratings in general are very relaxed. Like most movie theatres in Belgium, movie ratings are either kids allowed or not allowed. For the English-speaking tourist: all movies are usually in their original language with Dutch and French subtitles. Typically, only movies for kids are dubbed. Prices are cheaper than its bigger competitors, the nearest movie theatre outside Knokke is the Kinepolis in Brugge where tickets are several euros more expensive.
All in all, my favorite movie theatre and deservedly so.

Eerder onopvallende locatie overdag op de Lippenslaan. Leuk terras op de Lippenslaan met houten bank ; doet denken aan banken in Oostenrijk.

First off, this spot has it all: endless beach with side-on consistent breeze, gear is all right at the waters edge, friendly and knowledgable instructors. Additionally, there is a bar/restaurant right next to the school complete with outdoor Seating, bathrooms, and a place to hang your wetsuit after a session. Whether you are a beginner or an expert kiter, Royal Kitesurf School has everything to satisfy your craving to fly!

(Tuesday 09/08/2016 around 18:00) arrived there on the Terrace and we are greeted with a very rude:"I hope you are not coming to eat, because I don't serve food now." I answered, " no it's fine, just a drink. Do you have Bailey's?" The guy jus looked at me and said "pfffff just look in the menu" and when I commented literally that he was not being friendly that we know what we want to order and on't need the menu, he got rude and aggressive and asked us to leave his establishment, which of course we did, and we would never step foot in there again. I don't know if the guy was having problems or was overworked or it was his bad day or moment, but frankly, I don't care! You can never treat people like this in the service sector, or any sector actually!! So my advice is to AVOID THIS SPOT AT ALL COSTS.

Direkt am Strand mit diversen Wassersportmöglichkeiten inkl. Kursen.
Unkompliziert, freundlich, schön gelegen (allerdings links schon sehr deutlich die Hafenanlagen von Zeebrugge zu sehen).
Kinderspielmöglichkeiten im windgeschützten Bereich landseitig.
Übliche einfache Strandbarausstattung und -auswahl.
Achtung: keine Pommes!

Strandcabines moeten verwijderd worden van het strand voor 15 oktober. Demonteren en stapelen of thuis of in een berging. Maar eerst moet de cabine geleegd worden van zetels, windschermen, speelgoed of andere personlijke spullen. Dan mogen de hondjes In Knokke-Heist weer de ganse dag op het strand. Van 15/5 tot 15/10 alléén voor 9 h en na 21 h ; altijd aan de leiband !? Voor 9 h zie hele groepen wandelaars met kun hond. die samen op het strand lopen en ravotten zonder leiband. Wordt nooit geverbaliseerd voor 9 h + wat extra time ! Zo nauw komt het blijkbaar niet. Als je dan op het strand wandelt met je klein troeteldiertje mooi aan zijn lisje, dan heb je soms schrik als zo’n meute op je mormel afkomt! Maar meestal zijn loslopende honden met baasje wel gedisciplineerd, en komen bij het minste fluitsignaal of bevel, gewillig terug bij hun baasje.
