Kleinmond is a small coastal town in the Overberg region of the Western Cape province, South Africa. It is situated inside a UNESCO-declared biosphere about 90 km east of Cape Town between Betty's Bay and Hermanus. The town's name, meaning "small mouth" in Afrikaans, refers to its location at the mouth of the Bot River lagoon. Tourism plays a large role in the town's economy due to its popularity with holiday makers from across the Western Cape and Cape Town in particular.

I enjoyed this beach the best of all the Whale Coast Beaches that we went to. There is a lovely grassy area near the lagoon, which has benches where one can sit, sheltered from the wind. The Mountains form a stunning contrast to the clean white sands and the different blues of the water.
Even on a mid-winter day, there were children playing on the beach with some of them even venturing into the water!

We are avid hikers and we absolutely love this park. The fynbos vegetation is so unique and beautiful. One of our favorite places to hike, there really isn't anywhere like it. The river walk is an easy walk of about 3 hours, the Kogelberg is a full day hike (8-9 hours) with incredible views, Fynbos plants and flowers - really spectacular (you can just do a 4 or 5 hour hike if you don't want to do the full loop). A Wild Card can be used here, but it's more than worth the entry fee even if you don't have one. Truly spectacular hikes and scenery.

Me and two friends went white water river rafting with SA forest Adventures, and what a great time we had!
They provide you with all the necessary gear like wetsuits, or you can use your own.
The very helpful/friendly/funny guides explain everything thoroughly beforehand so even the inexperienced feel save and confident.
We drove to our starting point in the Kogelberg Nature reserve just outside Kleinmond. This is a short but very beautiful drive.
The rafting itself was fantastic. The rapids were big enough to get the adrenaline going haha. The guides explained every rapid in detail and what to do when.
In all it was a great experience ;-)
Check out their other adventure packages as well. We did the ziplining in Caledon the next day and had just as much fun.

This is a lovely shop, stocking interesting and quirky items, not the usual "soaps, candles and jam" stores which are two a penny along this strip of coastline. They also stock a good selection of gifts which would be suitable for children. I left with a grin on my face, bigger than that of the cat who got the cream, because I managed to pick up quite a few presents, which I know the recipients will value. An excellent Christmas shopping venue!

Scenic beauty surround you on every ride. Longer rides include beach ride which leaves the stables and travels through the fynbos along the estuary and into the wetlands over the dunes and onto the beach. Most beautiful ride u have ever had. We cater for first timers, beginner's and experienced riders. Each ride is accompanied by two guides if not three. Depending on the size of the group. We hope to see u all soon for the best ride of your life.

For people who dont want to walk the who day on hikes to explore the area (e.g. children, time factor etc) horse-riding is a very good option to explore the countryside) It is amazing because it has the Mountains (Helderburg mountains) overcast clouds, green and brown fields. It was certainly out of a picture book or painting because it was such a classic view.

Unsere beiden Gastgeber heißten uns herzlich willkommen. Wir suchten kurzfristig nach einer Unterkunft, da uns die andere Unterkunft wegen deren Doppelbuchung abgesagt hatte. Kurz nachdem wir hier gebucht hatten, kam sofort einen Rückruf unserer Gastgeber, dass die Buchung okay ist und wir konnten unmittelbar einchecken, trotz der späten Stunde. Die Unterkunft hat mehrere Zimmer mit Doppelbett und Drei-Bettbelegung. Das Frühstück wird von Tracy selbst zubereitet. Es ist ein Traum - Rührei mit Schinken und einem Croissant so weich wie Marshmallow. Einfach lecker. Man kann auch ein gesundes Müsli mit Smoothie und verschiedenen Cerealien erhalten. Kaffee in verschiedenen Ausführungen. Tee natürlich auch. Wenn man möchte, kann man Surf- Stunden nehmen oder sich von unseren Gastgebern bei Wanderungen führen lassen. Auch Bier- und Weinverkostung mit Picknick ist ein Muss. Auch wurde für uns das Haifischkäfig- Tauchen organisiert. Wir fühlten uns pudelwohl. Alles ist super dort gewesen. Und der Strand ist nur ein paar Schritte entfernt.

Situated just before the harbour front, it's a small shop if you looking for that special jam, sweet or sauce to take home. It's a small quaint country shop, with some wines too. Worth a quick stop when going to the harbour front.

Einer meiner liebsten 9-Loch Plätze. Der Plätze hat unterschiedliche Abschläge für die zweite Runde, falls man 18 Loch spielen will. Insgesamt ist der Platz nicht einfach zu spielen und hat fantastische Ausblicke.

A pleasant experience in this cinema with a difference. The audience sit at tables and can order drinks or eats from the nearby restaurants or shops and enjoy while watching popular movies. The owners are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere relaxing.
