We visited Huntington in hopes of finding some culture and history.We were disappointed to say the least. We happened to drive by this rose garden and glad we stop. It was one on only a couple places in the area we found interesting or nice. The roses and garden were beautiful.

More than 100 years ago, there were horses races here. Fifty years ago, older gentlemen played croquet on carefully manicured courts. Today, Central Park has a beautiful pond - restored from one that was there long ago, and filled in along the way.
Central Park has a great baseball venue - CP-1, which was just recognized with a Kentucky Historical Marker from the Kentucky Historical Society. The Ashland Baseball Hall of Fame is also located at CP-1, with plaques recognizing many area athletes, including major leaguers Don Gullett, Drew Hall, Cy Young winner Brandon Webb, and umpire Charlie Relliford.
Picnic areas, 100 year-old trees, Indian mounds, and much more.
And the sideward around the park's premiere is a 2.4 mile walk. Most any time of the day, you will meet people walking - some for exercise, some for social contact.
It's one of my favorite places to visit in Ashland.

If you are not familiar with the area, do not attempt to find the Oak Hill campground in the dark. The signs are deceiving and if you are pulling a 42' camper and arent comfortable with turning around on a dime, go in the daylight cause turn around spots are rare. The campground is nice, does not have sewer hook up, but has water and electric. Bath houses arent far no matter where you're at in the campground and they are nice and clean.

A great place to see a show or a concert. There is not a bad seat in the house. There are local shows plus national acts. You won't be disappointed in this beautiful theater.

They have the best ice cream ever. Two scoops was not enough. Must return there soon.
It has a good atmosphere, lots of cool stuff for geeks, nerds, and pop culture fans. Action figures, comic books, unique collectibles for fans of science fiction, fantasy, and more.

The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center is located in the heart of downtown Ashland. As of this writing, they are promoting an exhibit featuring the contributions made by the people of northeastern Kentucky during World War Two. Uniforms, newspaper covers, and captured equipment from Germany and Japan are part of the display.
On permanent display is the Country Music Highway, showcasing the country music stars from eastern Kentucky. Local celebrities include the Judds and Billy Ray Cyrus are a major part of the display, and other displays include Crystal Gaye, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, and others who lived in communities along I-23, a major highway running the length of eastern Kentucky.
In the basement of the museum is the discovery center, with a variety of activities in which children can get involved.
The best time to visit the museum is in the morning, which makes it easier to find a parking place.

We had an absolutely wonderful time celebrating my husband's 40th bday with the Tri-State Escape. The staff were warm, welcoming and great fun! The Pirate Escape was very atmospheric and I was sincerely impressed with the amount of thought that went into the riddles/puzzles and the decorative details. It was worth every penny and we made a memory that will last a lifetime. We look forward to coming back when they finish the Haunted Room!

Went there today, had not been in a while. As usual their staff is always non-friendly and rude, except a guy named Doug that works there is always pretty nice. I only saw one guy working today, it was early. Received no welcome, hello or how are you doing. No thanks for coming or come back and see us again. They raised their prices on everything from shoes to bowling to food and drinks. It's now $4.50 per game and $3 for shoes. For a family of 4 to bowl 2 games that would be $48, for just two games, less than an hour of fun. That's just for bowling, a bottle of coke is $2.40. Overall their customer service is not doing a good job of getting repeat customers. They may think that raising their prices will make them more money, but not when people don't come as often or choose to go elsewhere. I would much rather go to spare time in Ironton, Ohio where the prices are cheaper and the workers are much more friendly and it's a better family atmosphere.

welcome center is well maintained. good lighting safe atmosphere. clean restrooms. available WV tourist material is informative. plenty of grounds for you and your pet to stretch your legs. at night the big rig section if full. I'm a local but I go by this stop daily on my route to and from work. (pokemon stop)
