Learn the outrageously story of the affair between King Christian 7'th wife and his physician J.F. Struensee. In 1771 the royal family stayed at Hirschholm Castle, and the Queen gave birth to a daughter by Struensee. In 1772 Struensee was overthrown and executed after a political trial. The royal couple divorced and Caroline Mathilde was sent into exile. The royal family never again used Hirscholm castle.
