Grapevine Historic Main Street District

I take mini vacations often. I’ll take a day, find a nearby old town and “window” shop. Grapevine Texas is one of the places I go. Yesterday, I spent about 6 hours walking the main strip in old, historic Grapevine. It was decked out for St Patrick’s Day. I found a street gender with jerky. The farmers market offered unique kiwi berries and local honey. I bought a wonderful spiced tea soap and lotion at Grace. An outfit for Bass Hall was found in a boutique. I was disappointed that the store that had metal yard work was closed. I had a wonderful time here, enjoyed the rain, the people, the shops and the experience. I’ll be back.

I am scared of getting in the water. So to overcome my fear decided to do do flyboarding. The board was very heavy and struggled at first, but Kolbe the instructor encourgaed and I did OK for a first timer. I will definitely be back soon.
The staff is very friendly and made the whole experience awesome.

The tour was very educational and fun, our group learned quite a bit on the process of Rum, Vodka, Bourbon, and Whiskey. I thought we would have more than 3 tastings but it was still a good tour. The drinks we had afterwards were very...MoreThank you, Shayla! Although we generally offer 4 tastings on the tour, if there is anything else that you'd like to sample, our bartenders will be more than happy to help. Please come see us again soon!

We are golfers and this experience is great if you just want to hang out with friends and hit balls. It's very social and allows for fun interaction and competition. I'd give this place a 5-star rating because the couple of people we interacted with were very friendly. However, my husband's watch went missing from the table and we never found it. Also, you "have to" sign up as a membership (just $5) and we were told that we wouldn't get inundated with emails. But, I got 5 emails the next day. I had to unsubscribe. We'll go to another TopGolf facility in the near future, but we'll watch our belongings more closely. Also, keep tabs on what you're spending. It's easy to overspend with the drinks, golf time and food.

Love the comfy seats and getting food and drinks is a nice bonus. Food is pretty good. Only thing I would change - (1) a blanket would be even better and (2) service seems to stop once movie starts so can't get drink refills or popcorn refills

The Tribute at the Colony

A famous Scottish golf course designed by Tripp Davis.

Reviewed By scottygator94 - Aubrey, Texas

This is a destination golf course in the North DFW Metroplex, and the layout is pretty amazing. right on the shores of Lake Lewisville, an 18-hole course has been constructed where every single hole is a replica of a famous hole from a course in the British Isles. Because the wind is ALWAYS blowing on this course, you can stand on the first tee and imagine yourself at St. Andrews; in fact, the 1st, 17th, and 18th holes are all replicas of the same holes at the Old Course, the home of golf, complete with the burn that runs in front of the 1st green and meanders underneath a copy of the Swilcan Bridge just paces from the 18th tee!

Things to be wary of: 1.) unlike in the British Isles, there are snakes aplenty at The Tribute, and many are venomous, so if you venture off into the native areas or near the creeks (or near the lake to the left of #6 and #7), take a club with you. I have seen a couple of cottonmouths as big around as my lower leg (especially in the canal that bisects #2), and quite a few copperheads, too.

2.) The driving range and practice area is quite a walk from the parking lot; if the cart guys aren't busy, they'll typically give you a ride down to the range in a cart...make sure to tip them a couple of bucks for their trouble.

3.) The course stays busy. As a result, the greens can get pretty beat up, and run on the slow/bumpy side. Just hit your short putts firm, and don't let it take away from the fact that you're playing a really fun golf course, even if it takes you 5+ hours to play 18 holes.

The clubhouse also serves as a hotel, with a pretty decent bar and restaurant. There isn't much else within 5 miles, so if you go, plan on staying on site. If you have a car, though, venture out to LoneStar Taps and Caps (about 15 mins south on FM 423), or just go to the Tom Thumb supermarket (which carries a pretty good selection of Texas brews).

Staff was very friendly and helped squeeze us in right at closing time on a Sunday afternoon. Interactive stamp machine kept the kids intrigued and looking forward to the next room or sea life. Tunnel with glass ceiling & floor was awesome; the kids could not get enough and a bathroom was conveniently placed in the middle of the tour! The educational video at the end was a welcomed break for the parents and very enlightening for the kids. It was also very cool that they had a station at the very end that was interactive and allowed you to give your opinion on what wildlife the company should work with next. Would gladly spend a couple more hours here again on our next vacation. well Done Sea Life!

Marshall Creek Ranch

This was my second time to ride at Marshall Creek, taking family and friends from overseas that wanted a 'trail ride' experience! From booking to the price point and the well behaved horses (Except Maverick - who likes to snack! :-) ) it was well worth the 45 minute drive from SW Fort Worth. I did the evening trail ride that usually ends with us seeing fireflies in the wooded area as we head back - Magical!!
Would definitely go again!
